I LOVE the checked fabric and the sculptured integrity of the skirt part. You can wear cap sleeves, so no need to alter to sleeveless on my account. You should add a pair of your fab heels to this look.

I don't think the sleeves need altering at all, in fact I like them. You have great arms so you shouldn't worry about them on that account, and I actually love cap- and short-sleeved dresses, especially when the skirt is fuller like that one is. It's a nice balance, especially good for pears and hourglasses. I actually wish more dresses had sleeves!
