Went shopping last weekend and tried on a bunch of dresses at Nordstrom. It was disappointing because only one dress was available in my size in store and I only tried it on because it was my size. Snapped a few pictures but stopped because they just kept getting worse after this bunch.

We also went to Lord & Taylor and there wasn't even a dress I was interested in trying on.

On to round three, I'll be out shopping again this weekend.

I like the first one best but the floral one you showed better. You look gorgeous in them all, it is just a question of fussiness.

I love the Red dress, but if you don't feel it, you did the right thing leaving it at the store. Keep searching, I know it can be frustrating...

Lol. Sorry. Had to laugh. I had thought I liked 1 & 4, but yeah, not so much in real life. In real life, I think I find them silly. If only one could stand in front of a white drop cloth all day...

I hear you. Really underwhelmed by the dresses available right now. Those look nice on you, but I understand.

I also received the T Shoji you tried (in teal) and was not thrilled. I think I'm too busty for it.

Colette -- Sorry for your frustration. In all honesty -- You could probably wear just about anything and look nice. You have a lovely figure. However, after seeing you in the floral frock and the black body con dress, these others just do not seem special enough. Keep looking. It will be worth the hunt.

No, these are wrong. You have a similar problem to me in that many dresses fit, but that doesn't make them excellent. I understand your frustration, but the hunt should be worth it in the end. Keep trying!

Hi Colette - I have been eyeing #3 and #4 online, trying to decide for an upcoming formal event. Did you find they fit true to size? I'm 100 miles from the nearest Nordstrom. I need petites and it is so hard to find local retailers that carry them.

I like #1 style best on you, but love the color of #3 - I could never wear it but if you can - go for it!

I really love the style of dress #2, although it seems I am the only one. I think #2 looks amazing on you. However, in light of the previous dresses you tried on, I would go with one (or both!) of those before 1,3 or 4 here.

Echo - nope, I like 1 and 2 also - a lot. Which makes me wonder if I have no idea how to consider dresses. I think the second one is incredibly elegant.

Angie, I like #1 but I actually like #4 better. This was a really bad picture, plus my bra straps were showing. Mum LOVES #4 so I ordered it in my size to show her.

karen13, the Tadashi Shoji coral dress in #3 runs a tad bit big on me and hits just below my knee. The Maggie London in #4, runs pretty true to size on me. I'm 5'4 1/4" with a small bust.

Echo, I love #2 as well, just not for this event. Bonus, it accentuates the girls and I'll take all the help I can get in that department.

LisaP, I agree, #2 is really elegant and ladylike. I like to try on all different styles because I never know what is going to look and feel best on me.

More dresses to come.

Can't go wrong with #4. It's going to be fabulous.
