I know dresses don't work for me as my top and bottom are different sizes. i know orizontal stripes on my bottom are oh so unflattering. Yet, I love this dress!
I am not so good at visualizing dresses on, but perhaps you should try it? I have found with stripes every piece has a different effect on me and you should not assume it would be unflattering (assuming it is returnable!).
Very cute dress! If it makes you feel better, it would be a disaster on me too. That type of fit and flare always makes me look like a huge rectangular block. Sadness follows. I've had great luck creating a shape that works for me by using a striped top and a solid (for me pencil) skirt to get the same feel. I wonder if a striped top and a flared skirt in the dominant color of the stripe could give you the same feel?
Very cute dress! I think it's worth a try - you might be pleasantly surprised. Since it is a fit and flare shape you don't have to worry too much about the fit of the skirt, as long as the top is flattering.
The fit and flare silhouette is a natural on your shape, as long as you size the top half of the dress well. The narrow classic stripe in a fuller skirt will not be as widening as a form-fitting dress, either. How tall are you? I think the skirt is a little short, not for decency, but for the ideal proportions in the dress. Of course, the model is likely quite tall!
That dress is gorgeous! I say definitely give it a try. You never know - it might just work out perfectly. Personally, I don't feel that horizontal stripes should be a significant limiting factor in purchasing clothes.
Hey, we all can get a mad crush on a bad boy. We know he's not good for us, and our good sense can tell us to stay away, but we think, maybe, just this once, it might not turn out to be a disaster. And so it is with clothes...
