I had a perfect sweater dress I wore a lot over 3/4 years. Last fall I had to say good by to it as it was too big and looked sloppy. Want another, but length is confusing me. What is the length for midis? I want the length to be just below my knees. I am 5/3. If I measure myself from shoulder to that length about 38 inches seems about right. Not hard to find, but what I want is an A line, fit and flare, or some such with a little flare to the bottom. Not lower neckline, but not turtleneck either, and some sort of geometric pattern.

so far I have been scouring the net. Everythig is either too expensive, too cheap, too long , too short, or wrong colors.

I will wear it not dressy, but not too casual, with black tights,and booties or tall boots.

Should it be just to the top of tall boots? Would it be more current to just wear it with the tights and not worry if it is shorter, but definitely not mini?

Thuis is not easy as you cant hem a sweater dress. Looking like there may be a lot of returning which I hate. Maybe I will hot on the perfect one again.
