I had just a few minutes at Macy's today. They seemed to have ALOT of super nice dresses. I couldn't even get through them all in the little time I had. I'm hoping you all can help me vet these. I like them all and wouldn't be averse to keeping them all.

1/2) This is not a K/R, it's the cute little handmade capelet I bought at an art fair today. Isn't it sweet?!

3-5) Miss Sixty dress. Love these colors, it's a flattering fit, I think I even see my waist in there.

6-7) Kari's Nine West dress. I want to love it but it just doesn't look as Killer on me as it does on Kari. It's a 4P, shockingly it actually comes in petite in the store, haven't seen one of these online in petite.

8) Jessica Simpson, possibly not the very best quality dress out there but I could probably get a few seasons out of it. Really love the fit and colors.

9) WIW to the art fair. I wanted an easy on/off dress just in case I had a few minutes in an actual store. I like this dress but I am mad at it, it has some pleating at the waist that can make my pooch stick out in a not very nice way. It has been demoted from work to MOTG.

10) The Art Fair dress I fell in love with. Could be made in my size to my specifications and is in the similar price range to the rest of these dresses.

Love the capelet! I really love #6 and #8. The colours and cut of the dresses are fabulous on you. #3 I don't think the colors do you justice and the same for #9... it's cute but not standout to my eye. #10 is stunning and I can so see you wearing this! Would you get this color? It's lovely and just that litte bit different.

I am really torn! Is the print placement an issue on any of them? I didn't even have time to look at possible alternates in the store and I don't think they had dups of anything anyway.

Well, I LOVE the Jessica Simpson dress. You wear all of these styles well. I think Kari's dress looks great too. In order, I'd say 8, 6, 5 - the colors of 5 seem kind of muddy on you compared to the others (even the brown!) to my eye.

The capelet is wonderful, and so is the fair dress, if you can handle the neckline.

Print placement looks good. Coming back for a second look I think you HAVE to keep 6 and 8. The both look amazing on you. I don't think the print on 3 is particularly flattering.

Hmmm. I like the first dress! The next one I wasn't that crazy about (maybe because the pictures were out of focus). I love the Jessica Simpson one, and the black and white dress I could pass on, just because it doesn't look that special--I see a lot of black and white and its not my favorite color combo (shhh don't tell Angie)! So take that with a grain of salt.
Because I have grey hair, I was focusing in on your dark hair and how each dress picked up a little of it's color in the print so I liked what the first and third (Jessica Simpson) dresses did for that part of your coloring. As far as your complexion goes, I can't really make a judgement.
I know you have lots of different footwear options, but I actually liked how your chestnut (cognac?) boots here look with the J.S. dress. Love the capelet. Styled to perfection! I think it might be a more practical take-away from your outing today than the hand-made dress, but if you need a special occasion dress, by all means go for it. The color would be lovely on you.

The purple Art Fair dress is just exquisite and divine!!!

I think you should keep the lovely capelet and the squiggly Nine West Kari dress. The fit and colours are wonderful!

I'm not 100% ga-ga on the other dresses...they're all simply fine to me, probably very wearable, so it's up to you how much YOU love them! I do agree that the animal-print Jessica Simpson dress fits you like a dream! As for quality...haven't tried her dresses (yet), but am surprised by how much I like and wear my Jess Simp asymmetrical striped tunic (cotton/wool blend) - wasn't expecting great quality, but there ya go!

I love the capelet and it looks great over the t-neck. I like the first dress the best of all. The color and print are beautiful on you. I also like the polka do dress you wore to the fair. I think it looks very pretty and you should forgive it for whatever it did to anger you.

First, the capelet is fabulous! What a terrific piece! And you already heard me on the purple dress; it's gorgeous, so really it's a question of whether it feels like "you" and where and when you intend to wear it.

The Jessica Simpson dress may not be the best quality, (I have no experience of her dresses) but it looks fantastic on you. If the price is right, I say go for it! It does look really good with those boots, too, which may be influencing our perceptions some, but I'm pretty sure I would like it even if you had tried it barefoot.

As between the others, I like #3 much better than #6. First, for the colours, and also for the cut, which seems more sophisticated on you. You could wear #3 with black, grey, nude or taupe footwear (Miz Mooz boots, anyone?). It would look good with several of your toppers (black jackets, that little grey one, maybe?, the pinky beige one, perhaps, denim....the list goes on.)

Love the Jessica Simpson dress on you, also the capelet. If you like the art fair dress, then I say go for it...do you think you would wear it enough to justify the cost? It is pretty unique and the neckline might be itchy...what is the fabric content?

Still LOL at comment by Dianthus and forgiving the dress! Very good, D. I have to agree with her. I LIKE the black and white dress on you in #9. Is there anything you can't wear? I love the capelet in 1-2 and I really like the Miss Sixty dress in 3-5. It's figure-flattering and the pattern looks stunning on you! As for 10, is this the color that will be made for you, too? Art shows are awaiting, modgrl!

At the risk of not being very helpful, I love them all on you! I have a capelet and wear it a lot during the chilly months. It's really great for keeping you toasty and looks cute to boot. The dress in number 9 is my least favorite, although I like it. The silhouette is not quite as flattering on you as the others. The art fair dress is unique and I'm a big champion of hand-crafted garments, so I'd encourage you to give it a try if it's in your budget.

I like the capelet a lot. I'm a little leery of the animal print dress. Leopard is trending so hard right now, I fear it's going to crash like the stock market.
I don't think the art fair dress is you.

Capelet is awesome! Out of all the dresses, I like 8 the best... but I wonder if it's because it goes best with the cognac boots? Hmmm... Ana makes a good point about the leopard print. Have you always been a leopard gal, or is it new to you this season. The art fair dress is a bit of a departure. Unfortunatley I think I'd have to see it on to decide, and you'd have to have it made just to try it.

mmm. Anna makes a good point about leopard print. Depends on the price and how much you would need to wear it for it to earn its spot (so to speak). But you know...it's a bit abstract and with a topper over wouldn't be so obviously animal print as some animal prints.

Good points about the art fair dress, I really feel like I would have to try it to know if it was me or not. The Kari dress is the one I'm most unsure about and these are the pictures that turned out the worst. I will have to repost better ones later.

Rita: how many dresses are you wanting to keep- i.e one or more? I like the Jessica Simpson on you a lot because of how the colors brighten your complexion and the overall look of the dress but yes I don't know about animal print. Although many say animal print is now a neutral? and it looks like I've seen it every fall in some iteration or the other for atleast 5+ years. I think the miss ixty dress has a lot o styling potential- casual/dressy. I am least sure about the Kari dress too. will look forward to your further pics.

Once I saw the Art Fair dress the others kind of paled in comparison. But I would hope you could try on a sample before ordering it so that you could see how it fits and drapes and whether the neckline is comfortable . As for the others I like the colours in #3 but not the way the skirt drapes (seems to come in at the knee). I like the colours and fit of #6 and #8. If I had to pick only one I'd probably go for #6 just because the colours are fresher on you and the neckline is so flattering.

I'm torn between the first two dresses. I think I have a slight preference for the Kari dress...the longer length is more on trend and the colors seem a tad better for you.

Animal print is a classic - and a trend. FWIW, I wouldn't hesitate for a second if you love that dress.

Rita, as soon as I saw you in the leo JS frock, I cheered aloud! Wowee! I adore the print and fit. Okay, just think of how many ways you can remix this frock.....black blazer, boots (brown and black), leather jacket (cognac, black, brown), furry vest, cardigans (bf and reg styles), patterned hosiery and heels for a date night, flats, jewelry, AND I feel this could be a three season frock for you!

You look so cute in everything but my favorite is 1/2 followed by 6/7. I don't know about the art fair dress (#10) as it's hard to judge the fit and quality. It would be unique.
