Dress for a summer garden wedding

I have an invitation to an early summer wedding on the grounds of an old estate. The ceremony is in the afternoon. I am not sure yet whether I will be able to go but would like to consider possible outfits.

Option 1 is the mirror print dress by Maggie London (copycatting Janet, Celia, Sarah). Option 2 - this chevron dress by Maggie London on Ideeli today (half the price but I have to pay shipping). I like the neckline better on the second dress but not sure about the print. I also like this skirt by Vince Camuto (Option 3) and have a burgundy tiered sleeveless shell I could wear over it - but not sure what color of topper would work with the off-white skirt and burgundy top. What do you think? Other ideas?

I think any of those are appropriate for a summer wedding, and so it might boil down to what you think is most flattering and/or easiest to complete. Often that is the deal for me--for which one can I get shoes and topper.

Toppers can be a pain--personally I tend to cross off the idea of a white jacket at weddings, but it's not as important if not in the wedding party and if balanced by a lot of other color or pattern. It's just something I've tried to avoid. Gray or silvery-gray would be pretty with the skirt and a burgundy top. With the other dresses, you'd have a wide range of color options for toppers if you need one.

Oh, unfrumped, you just gave me something to think about! I ordered a white jacket from Nordstrom that I thought would be a perfect topper for any dress with a white background. Maybe not...

I think I prefer the VC skirt to the dresses (just a personal preference of course) but I wonder if you could go with something like a raspberry, fuchsia or hot pink topper over the burgundy shell. Of course silver and gray would be obvious choices for a topper too.

Oh, these are all lovely options. I'm actually considering that Maggie London dress for a wedding later in May myself.......

I think either dress #1 or #1 with a white jacket would be lovely. Skirts just make things complicated IMO. Too much to match!

Not to panic! My recent focus has been MOTB and to lesser extent thinking about other family members in the photos. I don't think there's a total blackout (!) on white jackets.

I really like all of these, so it will just be a question of which one looks the most fantastic! Can't wait to see.

I have a summer garden wedding, too. Luckily I have a dress from last year that I plan to wear.
