Due to weather and the tasks ahead of me today, I did not wear a dress so am not including my outfit.

But all you lovely lasses that are wearing dresses today for Sona's challenge - let's see what you've got!

Ok Shannon this is what I wore to work today (Tuesday). It isn't uniform, but it is in the right colours and is the closest I get to feeling business bombshell!! The dress is about 12 years old and I like that I am still getting to wear it. The ruffled sleeve tee is a defence against A/C though I was still cold some of the time

Bravely forging ahead with another dress on a slushy, snowy day. This one is a Calvin Klein faux wrap dress from this fall. A good work dress. It has a butterfly wing pattern that reminded me of the famous YLF magic dress, so maybe that's why I like it. Boots are Franco Sartos, Angie's recommendation, from fall 2011 or so.

I am just about done with my fur vest after three seasons, but it has served me well.

Laura - love that dress on you and how your fur vest picks up the lighter tones in your hair. Your vest has indeed served you well and it looks smashing here!

Sorry Gals, not much time these days for lurking arround, so didn't even notice Sona's dress week challenge, BUT am a dress girl, AND wear a dress today so didn't want to miss it.
-M&S knitt dress (I wear a very thin black turtleneck and a ful slip under it)
-chunky mint beads on a black pleated cord (love there beads only on the low front-so not that overhelming)
-black patent belt
-thin black waistcoat (front is plain and smooth, sides and back are ribbed) for that "third piece"
-black suede boots
-black tights
-blue, grey and tape dotted and animal print scarf, for outdoors only.
The beads and scarf are new, and love the springy feel of them brightening a bit the otherwise all dark and wintery outfit.
(Missoni like pattern on the dress is taupe and light blue, so not mint(!)- but I still find the color of the beads going well here-maybe cuz they kind of pick out the colour of my eyes(a greyish green).)

Good morning!
Today I dressed in a hurry so no dress(this reasoning makes sense in my head ) but I love the interpretations so far.

@anne- love the color blocking you are getting with the tee under the dress

@Laura- that is such an interesting mix of textures and colors, it looks very refined to me

@lyn67- the missoni print is so fun

@Debora- for me all three looks with the dress look like winners. A black dress and denim jacket are so versatile and look so good.

I had planned this outfit and wanted to wear it, but I woke up feeling pretty under the weather. Put on, got a pic then took off and went back to bed! Double dipping with the scarf challenge. I dont have black long sleeve dress so I am wearing a skirt and turtleneck and "pretending"...

I'm SO with Angie on dresses in the stores being too short (I'm 5'6"). I bought this one a couple years ago because it's otherwise perfect in every way, but as soon as I can find something longer it's going to a new home. However, because of the lengtth, I like it better with tights than bare legs, so thanks to the dress challenge I realized I should wear it this winter.

Pic 2 is a detail (complete with cat fur) of the lace on the skirt that 's hard to see in the big picture. The shoes are teal - may be hard to see. I have some leopard booties on order, and may do this outfit again with them if they're keepers. Any other ideas on how to style this for winter?

I am not feeling this dress, at all. This challenge has made me realize that I am over knit dresses. I like the structure of a heavier, more constricting material. I feel too "loose" in this type of stuff. Also, I am so over floral prints, big time. At least I'm having a good hair day. so it seems

Anyhow, I still wanted to share.

Lyn - the Missoni pattern with the bright scarf is a stroke of genius! Way to rock two challenges in style!

Debora - I have that outfit on my Pinterest board too! And I am taking notes on how to wear that black sheath in new and stylish ways - thanks for the inspiration!

Sarah - sorry to hear you're under the weather but you sure look good in your "fake" dress before heading back to bed! Love the bright pop of colour with the handbag.

MaryK - whoo hoo! Another "double challenge player"! Fab pattern mixing and I adore how the jacket and handbag are in perfect sync.

Nadya - I'm laughing at your "cat fur" comment - don't you find as soon as you're wearing a dark colour, the fur babies have to come and rub all over you? I know you think the dress is a bit on the short side but it is a fabulous fit on you and I like how the short sweater and necklace echo each other in colour.

Zap - the dress looks lovely on you but when you're done with something, you're done. Mind you, I think that handbag could make even a burlap sack look fantastic! (not that your dress is like a burlap sack...lol!)

Here are 3 ways I styled this dress yesterday. In the interest of full disclosure I'm not actually wearing a dress today. I plan to shop for boots to wear over jeans so a dress just won't work well.

I wear this dress multiple ways. My favorite way is probably with a denim jacket but that's such a common combo I thought I would photograph some other options.

1) with black button down tied over it

2) with jacket... NOT my favorite jacket but dh loves it so it stays for now

3) with cardigan

Sometimes is worth it, sometimes is not, price does not equal quality, as you know.The only reason why I do it is because I'm lazy, I want to find the perfect thing once and not think about it again. I used to buy at a lower price point and things just broke season after season. I am very hard on my bags, I usually carry either a laptop or an IPad or both.They need to last. I am getting over the sticker shock, my bags are actually "cheap" in the bag world.

I got that little tidbit from both my grandma and mom. They say that you always look well dressed if your bags, your coats and your shoes are of the best quality you can afford, and that most people have a hard time recognizing a $10 top from a $1,000 top. That 's what I grew up hearing.

Lots of lovely ideas for winter "dress" ing. Here is my summer dress for Tuesday - a bit chilly hence the cardi (which despite the photo is actually purple) which matches the colour of my shoes & toe nails - is that matchy, matchy or what? I added a belt for waist emphasis. This is my nod to the 1950s.

Action shot included - DS more awake than yesterday but a bit quick off the mark with the camera.

I love seeing all your fabulous outfits! This is so much fun. I wore my black wrap today, too, and received a number of compliments for my outfit. I felt very modern classic today. My red coat added the top layer that set my outfit apart from the average teacher - hah a I'm posting a mockup today too, proper pics will be posted when I get around to take them. I know it says Thursday, not Tuesday, but I had to swap days because I need to do some laundry to be able to wear what I originally had planned.

Sona, I hope you enjoy reading the threads and that it makes you feel happy about getting this started. We miss you!

Shannon, thank you so much for moderating this. I hope the temperatures are more forgiving in your neck of the woods by now.

Brenda - all three versions of your dress illustrate beautifully how versatile it is. I especially like it with the bright toppers.

Diana - love LOVE the colour combination of grey with that dark red/burgundy - so delicious! That would be a rather short dress, wouldn't it? Have your Docs broken in beautifully for you?

I'm double dipping again with today's challenges. I also had an extra twist. I got my teeth cleaned today and I hate wearing dresses when I'm in the dentist's chair, so I had to figure out a compromise that would give me the coverage I wanted plus included a dress. Out came one of my favorites from last year. This dress has some interesting draping, with the pockets that stick out and the blouson shape. I wore it with leggings underneath, plus double fishnet socks and booties that have a corset detail on the back. Accessorized with a slouchy olive green purse, not shown in the photo, and of course my scarf!

Ooh - K can - LOVE your entry. Beautiful blue and funky booties.

I have enjoyed all the offerings today.

I am wearing my black sheath dress, which really needs replacing. I would rather replace it with an ink blue one. Any suggestions? The one thing I love about this dress (seasonless, packable jersey) is also kind of what I hate about it -- I realized today that it is utterly shapeless.

But I'm wearing it to work at home with a colourful sweater over top because it is FRIGID.
Not dressy, and I think the sweater would work better with one of Angie's full skirts. Alas...

So many great entries. I made an attempt at doing both challenges today (I am very challenged with scarf wearing) Turns out I created a MaryK inspired look without having seen hers (I like yours better) Like Zap - I think I'm over this dress - it's a great weight and drape, but pretty nun-like in style (skirt is very A-line, but I realize not in a fashion forward way) I tried to distract with my polkadot scarf, snake boots and plaid jacket. (countdown to haircut - TOMORROW!)

Suz, Shannon, your love of the dress cracks me up because this morning I decided to send it on its merry way after this wearing. I loved it last year, but this year, not so much. Plus it is a little too big. And it is typical BCBG hit or miss quality, with this one seeming to be a miss. I'm glad that it looks passably good, though. Maybe it will be spared until the end of winter.

This is more of a skirt rather than dress week for me. Wore this outfit to the mall.

Debut of a skirt imitation of the Bailey 44. Bought it at Target. It's has the right amount of fit without feeling body con. It's fully lined and I luv it! Target also has it in a navy and teal green combo, but I didn't think I'd wear it as much as the grey and black. It's not tiered, just pieces that are seamed together.

#2 is the asymetrical neckline of this Calvin Klein banded hem top.
