Dress challenge - inspired by Ingunn

So maybe this doesn't actually work on me, but never in a million years would I have thought of this without seeing Ingunn's thread today.

1 and 2 are my burgundy faux wrap dress with a simple white 3/4 sleeve cotton blouse and a scarf added to try tying in with the boots. I think the scarf may veer toward flight attendant. Because of the 3/4 sleeves I'm afraid the dress sleeves may be too short when the cuff is folded up. I do have a cream long sleeve satin blouse that would be a bit dressier but haven't tried it yet. So far I've only worn this dress plain with black dress boots.

3 is a cap sleeve summer dress with the Gap Academy blazer. Don't know that I would have occasion to wear this combination but decided to give it a go just to see how it worked. 4 is a twirly shot for Lyn* - I didn't get in place in time. 5 is the same combination but with my denim jacket. I think I prefer the denim with this dress.

Both cute looks! I like the white shirt better without the scarf, and I agree the denim looks better - the casual vibe works with the boots. You could try another scarf or scarf tie though - I think it's the combo of the way it's tied and tonal colours that's giving the flight attendant vibe.

Jules, I thought about knotting the scarf of the side but it was awkward with the collar. Maybe more of an infinity loop would be better.

Love the first outfit sans scarf, really nice! I think both jackets work for the second one, too. Who needs an occasion? Wear them out to the grocery store if you have to

I'm thrilled! The dress is beautiful with both shirts under it, and I like it both with and without the scarf. You might try to tie it in the neck instead, perhaps? I prefer the denim jacket, but the blazer works, too. You've done very well with this, and you look terrific. Thanks for sharing!

I like them both! I think I like 1 with the scarf (although I always feel like a flight attendant or boy scout when I wear a scarf, I'm starting to think it's just my own perception)
I like the denim with the 2nd dress best, maybe it's the shirt with the Gap blazer that makes it a little too schoolboy. Try the white blouse and it would look better to me.

These all look great to me! You might try tying the scarf other ways if you're not fond of this look, there are so many fun and various ways to tie scarves these days!

The white blouse didn't work with the second dress because the collar just wouldn't sit right with the blazer.
The scarf is my only square one, so I'm still toying with ways to tie it. I do have another rectangular scarf that would probably work with an infinity tie.

Thanks to you I looked up Ingunn's thread (I'd missed it somehow). I'm so trying this, and soon.
