Drawn to it, but how would I wear it?

So I can't get these out of my mind http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ha.....rd/3054201 but, besides with jeans, I can't really picture how I'd wear them. I don't have pencil skirts or any office type attire. Is pairing just with jeans and leggings enough to justify adding them to the winter wardrobe?
I am donating/selling my gray pumps I never wore and was in the market for a bootie in replacement when I stumbled on these. Would they work with dresses?

I think they would work with a variety of looks, especially dresses. Just don't wear them with ruffled ankle socks.

Oh, those are very Fluevog-like. Do you have these colors in your wardrobe? They would also work with neutrals or olive.

That said, realistically when would you wear them? They are not casual or around the house shoes. You could probably find something similar but a litle less dressy. What is it you love - the two tone, the shape, the heel?

Just trying to keep you on the straight and narrow!

Hee hee, Una - yes, I am soooo drawn to the two tone, and even tri color, looks lately. I like to don a heel to go out at nights but need the warmth/coverage when it's cold and snowy, as I know you understand! I do have some deep berry and purple in my wardrobe along with blues and greens. My everyday bag is a purple crossbody come to think of it.

Angie, do you think it could even go with, say, my blackberry colored wrap dress (pic 1)?? I have such a mental block about oxfords with skirts/dresses lol!

pic 2 is the shoes I am essentially planning to replace with these.

mo, what would justify the purchase would be frequency of wear as well as mixability.

since you wear jeans so often to go out, i can see you rocking these for a dinner, a club, a music jam session.

plus, i think it can transition your summery dresses into autumn even winter if you waterproof the suede.

Okay, I will try and get outside of my box with a few dress and skirt pairings! Interestingly, I feel these are pretty much in line with my mountain/cold weather style. Perhaps since I've only been in FL since I joined here, only the warm weather side of my style has been portrayed? I am all about cute jackets and snazzy shoes to 'up' the jean factor when I'm back home

I am all about you trying new things, as long as these gorgeous shoes are not orphaned! Why don't you come up with some outfits to post here as a mock-up of ways you could wear them? They definitely suit you as they are still very feminine for oxfords.

Hmm, offhand I could have substituted them in the blue jacket and skinny jeans pic above. And there's these? Ooh, and I plan on getting dark gray cigarette cords this winter, too.

I think those shoes would be terrific with the looks you've shown here. Everyone else has given you great advice. Now you give me some, okay? Where can I find that dress? I've never found a wrap dress that works for me -- but I'm willing to try again with that one!

I think you have quite a few styling options Malina! I have a similar pair in black and they have been my go to heels for the last five years. I wear them with all types of skirts, dresses and trousers and espeically love to wear them with textured hose. It did take a little while for me to get used to how I looked in them due to the high vamp being less leg lengthening than the pumps I wore previously donned but now the cost per wear must be about 50p, I say go for it.

And CJH, the shoes were also an eBay find. I wasn't ignoring you, just have heard that folks have had things bought out from under them and didn't want to risk that! I trust all board members I interact with to respect other's stalked items, but there are still hundreds of lurkers out there I've never met who just may want my shoe!
I'm excited to have them for the fall and can't wait to get them in the mail!

Those shoes are great and I'm totally on the team 'wear it with skirts'.Actually my first though was 'wear it with a midi skirt'.
I think they would also look good with the grey cigarette pants.

I learn so much from reading these posts. It never occurred to me that someone might read something like this and then try to snatch their item on ebay. I guess I'm too trusting. Anyway... great shoes and I think they would go with so many things as people here have suggested - jeans, skirts, dresses.

Well, they arrived! I am a little bummed that they are 3 1/2" instead of 3 1/4". I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but 3" is my true comfort level. On the plus side, the tongue continues the low vamp, with it's heart shape, and so I feel better pairing these with skirt/dresses. I packed up all my pants and leggings in anticipation of moving later this month, so I was forced to put them with a skirt - ha! I could get used to these

I know it's kind of uninspired to pair them with purple and black, but newbies have to start somewhere! And I'm a definite newbie at oxfords with skirts.

Malina - they are gorgeous, and love how you've styled them. I've just posted a 'keep or return' about something similar ... and was also thinking about with skirts (not that I have any skirts at the moment). Like you it's way out of my comfort zone (and you have legs that are slim and go on forever, and I don't!).

I imagined this outift with my dark gray leggings, but they were packed away. I had a lot of trepidation about bare legs with them. Still do, actually lol. But I can see them with leggings and/or pants all season no problem!

LOVE these! I can see them with sweater/fleece tights and sweater-dresses, your wrap dress pictured above, slim black pants and a blazer, midis, vests, cozy tunics... ahem, I think they will see lots of use.

I have a pair of these type shoes and I wear them all the time. They dress my jeans up and I wear with a mid length skirt kind of 1940s style. I get heaps of compliments on them. It really works with my lifestyle because I can wear to work and out and it dresses up something that would look quite casual otherwise. Mind you if you live a fairly casual lifestyle, they may not be as versatile

Great find. I had a bad experience with BHFO and I'm still feeling negative about the whole thing. Very strong-arm approach to customer service and inflexible. On the other hand, I've had some great experiences with sellers and return to their stores.

You are moving back to Tahoe? I am so excited for you!

Mo I am very late to this one but just wanted to chime in and say these shoes are just stunning. I have nothing to add but agree that these could be very versatile shoes and will go with pants, jeans, dresses and skirts. Do have fun with them.

Denise, sorry to hear you had a bad BHFO experience! These actually came from a different seller. The dress was my BFHO purchase.
And, yes, we will finally be moving back home. The BF's mother is needing shoulder surgery and at 78, she can't do a Tahoe winter alone in such circumstances. So, at some point this month we will be packing it all up in the truck and driving, driving, driving lol.
