Drawing from the Bottom of the Deck!

Drawing from the bottom of the deck --- that's what a size 14 does when finding a pair of jeans or trousers for the dressing room! You know those tall piles at Gap, ON, etc? Yeah. Well, the bigger sizes are always on the bottom. Those hanging racks on the walls? My size is always in the back. Makes me feel like they're hiding them, although I choose to pretend that I'm actually digging for treasure!

I'm having difficulty finding spring/summer trousers that make me feel like singing, so I'll have lots of digging to do in the next few weeks. What trousers and culottes are you loving this season? What silhouettes and styles would you suggest to amp up my warm-weather wardrobe?

I so know what you mean about digging to the bottom---I wear an XXL or 16 in most things and it's always at the bottom of the pile or hiding at the back of the rack, if it's there at all!!

Re: new silhouettes: A friend just gifted me with three pairs of CP Shades culottes - navy, dark brown and khaki. Apparently she bought them and then after getting them home she said they felt too costume-y. They're super full and look like a skirt to be honest. Not sure I'll take the plunge but it's intriguing.

I am personally getting ready to embrace the boot cut/flare. I just bought some black bootcut jeans and a lighter retro pair (both NYDJ), Even though most people here in Los Angeles are still loving the skinnies, the times they are a-changing. A very fashion forward friend of mine who swore she'd never give up skinnies recently confessed she was looking for bootcuts (to quote her, "SMALL bootcuts, not elephant bells"). LOL.

ABC: Glad to hear I'm not alone!

Peri: I have a good store of sleeveless, fluid woven tops. I believe that warm weather will eventually come!

Puppycat: I'm looking toward fall for flares to return to my wardrobe --- and wide legs, which I've always loved. I've got some trepidation about lengths and footwear, though! Culottes like a skirt are right up my alley!
