Drapey wrap dress - should I buy this?

Hi ladies! Sorry for being a bit MIA lately, I have been busy with house guests.

I tried this faux wrap dress today and it fits perfectly. I like the pattern too. The only thing I am a little unsure about is the fabrication - it is 95% polyester and 5% elastane. The fabric isn't shiny/satiny like most polyester items. It feels like crepe and isn't heavy feeling at all.

What do you think? Should I get it?

Kirti, most of the dresses I bought this year that I'm loving the heck out of are polyester blends. Not all polyesters are created equal, and the ones that I love best feel high quality and don't look cheap, much like you mentioned here. I wouldn't uniformly dismiss all polyester blends in one go without trying them out first!

I have jersey dresses in polyester, rayon, and cotton (all with a bit of spandex) and I've vowed to only go for the polyester in the future. After a dozen washings, the polyester ones look new and the others are starting to look a little sad.

I have a handful of poly dresses that I love. For me it really comes down to quality, feel, and breathability If it feels nice against the skin and doesn't feel suffocating I'd go for it. It's a very pretty dress!

Lovely dress Kirti and I'm with Kari and Cinnamon Fern regarding polyester/polyester blends. Some of them are so fab now that they wear and wash beautifully.

Thumbs up from me! If it feels good on, buy it! I think many of my stretchy dresses are poly.

Go for it, Kirti. I agree with the others about poly/poly blends. I've got a number of poly blend dresses and they wear and launder beautifully, and hold their shape.

Since extreme heat and humidity are not concerns for you, I vote yes. I love the couple of polyester dresses and tops I do have in cooler weather; and undeniably they are the easiest thing to drip-dry, so great for travel too.

YES! This is a beautiful dress and you should absolutely buy it IMO. Poly blends have come a long way and aren't what they once were. I wouldn't avoid a dress strictly on that basis.

Thanks Echo! I usually stick to cotton and recently tried linen too, but I don't own any poly/poly blends. I think I need to revise my views of poly now!
