So, I unexpectedly drove by the mall with AT. I was thinking of ordering a tall in one size smaller than I tried here (they didn't have my usual size). This size fits in the shoulders, and is longer than I expected compared to the pic.

What do you think? I'm down the way from the store and walked out without.

Eta I decided against this.

I like that dress on that size on you. Does it have a raw hem? From the pictures I cannot tell but the hem seems twisted somehow.
I also like the shirt, especially tucked in.

I like the color on you. I think it looks big, but it's hard to tell because of the angle of the shot. The blouse seems a keeper.

Celia - I didn't notice until you mentioned it, but the hemline does look a bit off - must just be my arm moving it. I ultimately passed on the dress because I have others at home that I feel better in. I do like the sleeve a lot though.

Joy - I fear going down a size will feel constricting in the top part.

As to the blouse, I debated more on that one, but did leave without it. The wonderful lighting of the dressing room seems to make it look a better color for me than it felt IRL. I may be regretting passing on it, but I try to stick with my first impression that if I have to think to hard on something, maybe I shouldn't get it.

I like the red dress more than the blouse. I think you may have made the right decision. It doesn't sound like either were "love" pieces for you.

The top looks really good. A nice shape on you and great drape. It doesn't have the "wow" factor of the dress, which is why I didn't say anything at first, but if I look at it on its own, it looks great, and perfect for your needs.

I think you need that dress! 1) It's happy, and who doesn't need that? 2) It looks really good on you. 3) It's versatile--could look very dressy or quite casual, with different accessories. 4) The holidays are coming!

It's always worth trying things. It looked very nice from here but if you're not happy with the fit then you can reject and move on.

The dress is really very nice but I think it is a little bigger. If you can try smaller size and see if it is good for, if not, model is not good for you. That is the usual way of my decision. This is just suggestion.

I think you need that dress! Once you get the size figured out you will be all set. The color and style of the dress are very flattering on you.
