Doing things back to front...

First I bought the pants (they can be returned), then I tried them on with tops and shoes I have and then I went back to read this blog entry (http://youlookfab.com/2013/08/.....ack-pants/) only to discover that a heeled shoe is the preferred shoe.

I am posting pictures of what I tried on in any case. This will be MOTG outfits for me. Please tell me why flat shoes are so bad.

I also added 3 photos of shoes. Can these work with these pants if they are comfortable enough?

Lastly, should I even keep these pants, regardless of the type of shoe?

Any comments and/or suggestions welcome.

I like them scrunched up with the sandals, particularly the sandals with silver ankle strap. The exposed ankle adds structure and the trendy sandal help makes it intentional, I don't think you need a heel, your leg line is is fine. But unscrunched with the ballet flats, there is more of a pajama or overly relaxed, not-so intentional vibe. I'm mixed on the converse but again the scrunching helps.

Echoing what Jules and Ceit said, and adding that I'm not crazy about the cons but I don't think they look bad either, I think I would prefer gray cons.

Nothing wrong with flat shoes, particularly if you have a long legline already!

The pants are fun. I like them especially with the silver ankle band sandals, scrunched up for structure.

The issue with flats is mainly that it can shorten the legline. It can also look like pajamas or a bit sloppy. So it's really important to keep everything else neat. You can mitigate a bit for flats by tucking or semi-tucking your tops instead of leaving them untucked.
