Does this work? Peplum and full skirt.

I found this outfit picture on one of our online shopping websites. My immediate reaction was that I absolutely love it.

Somehow I feel that a peplum top with a full skirt shouldn't work, but I really like the combination here.

Do you think it works and why? Do you think it will only work on a really skinny and tall person?

I think the soft flowyness of the top over the soft flowy skirt helps. Kind of volume over volume. And I think being skinny always helps :/

I like the combo too. I don't think you need to be either tall or skinny, but I think it would be a lot easier for someone with a relatively small waist.

Sure it would! It works better when the angle of the peplum is echoed by the fullness of the skirt and they don't compete against each other.

I am not particularly skinny and not particularly tall, you just need to find (or make) a proportional top and a bottom.

IMO it does work and it's because of the soft fabrications and the width of the peplum at the bottom sort of matching the width of the fullness of the skirt, if that makes any sense.
