I love this leather jacket but I am really on the fence about whether I should keep it or sell it on ebay.. Since beginning blogging 6 months ago and seeing photos, I became aware that I had been wearing jackets that were too long for my petite frame( a by product of the weight gain) and I have replaced a majority of them to hit me at my hip bone or above.

Does this jacket look okay with this dress? Is it too long, should I keep it? or sell it on ebay? Thanks in advance for your wisdom!!!!

I think it is too long for skirts and dresses, maybe with pants...

I think they would be great with skinnies or straights but not too much volume down below.

Tracey, I just love the colour of this jacket, so take my comments with a grain of salt!
I would keep this jacket and wear with pants etc. for sure.
It isn't perfect with the dress due to the longer length, and if you particularly need to wear with dresses I understand your point of view.

I agree with the others. I love this colour and the leather looks very soft. I think that it would be lovely with skinnies.

I'm with the panel: overpowers this dress but is a great colour and shape would look good with skinnies or leggings.

I agree that it would look much better with pants. Do you enjoy wearing it with pants? Maybe keep if you do, the color is really nice!

I agree about the length being an issue, at least if you want to wear it with dresses. The colour looks great on you, and the jacket itself looks soft and well-constructed. I would pair it with pants or get it shortened if you want to wear it with dresses instead.

The leather is very soft and that is what i love so much about it.. I wanted to try it with dresses for Spring, but my own instincts and your wisdom confirmed that it needs to stay with skinny jeans... I am focused on losing the remainder of the weight and will definitely have to part ways with it then anyway, so have to face reality.. In the meantime... gonna rock it!
I have a much shorter suede jacket that I thrifted in a similar shade that will definitely work with dresses, but it's not soft and you can't scrunch the sleeves..

Would it be easy to shorten/ have shortened? I've never had leather altered before, so I'm not sure. If you did have it shortened, you could max out wears before its ultimate departure from your wardrobe

My vote is too long with the skirt you are wearing.

I would think that the zippered closure would make it impossible to alter... so never considered that option...

Tracey I am struggling with a few elements with respect to the jacket and I would love to see this styled over skinny jeans to actually see how it does work. On one hand I am finding the jacket looks a bit dated, but on the other hand I know the cut and oversized (long) look is being worn a bit by some of the 20 something bloggers. I think I would really need to see it with the jeans, footwear etc to be able to really form an opinion. The colour however it stunning.

This almost has a "boyfriend" kind of look to it which I really like and the colour is gorgeous on you. I do think as others have commented, that it is too long for skirts or dresses but would look great with slouchy trousers or jeans. I think it's worth playing around with in your closet before making a final decision.

Tracey, I like the jacket better than the dress. The color is so pretty on you and it looks like soft leather. If you want to wear the two pieces together, maybe the dress could be shortened to a tunic or blouse to wear with pants or wear this dress with your suede shorter jacket.
