Does this scarf work?

This is a stock standard work outfit I have shown here before, but I thought it needed a little colour and also warmth since I didn't wear a coat for my walk to the bus this morning.

DD gave me the scarf for Mother's day and it's a great colour for me.

However, I'm not sure if the neckline of the blouse works with the scarf and would like your opinions on that

Yay. I would wear the scarf and ignore the neckline. People will see the scarf rather than the blouse neckline, anyway.

What a beautiful outfit! The scarf has such a great colour and works perfectly with the black and white outfit.
I personally don’t mind my scarves with such necklines, but if you are worried about it competing with the neckline, try to tie it differently. You can move to loop up around your neck, so the neckline will be visible. Or just let it hang freely around your neck without the loop. Or tie it in a way which would cover the neckline.

I think it looks ok as it is- really pretty color, and that draws the eye. But as Katerina suggests, a different scarf tie might better camouflage or echo the neck. Lately I’m into the triangle-in-front effect that you get when you tie a scarf in a sort of “bandit” or handkerchief style.

I like the way it looks in the first set of pictures. I think it’s very soft and feminine looking, and I notice the beautiful color and how wonderful the scarf looks on you! What a thoughtful mother’s day gift from your DD!

I like the scarf color, but I don’t like the fringes hanging down so close to the patterned skirt. If the scarf is amenable to this, what I do in a case like this is l: to knot the fringe ends together; and then two loops around the neck. Thereby I’m creating a faux infinity scarf. But then again, I am always on the lookout for a good fringeless scarf, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

That really is a beautiful color on you. I think you can wear it with the blouse. Try different ties to see which you like the best.

I like the way you've tied it in the second set of photos, looks a bit more business- like and put-together. You could also try folding the scarf in half (long way) and looping in around your neck, pulling the fringe ends through the loop - keeping it all up top, not draping down to your waist. Filling in the neckline and drawing attention up.

Lovely color with the black & white. I’d skso “ ignore” the neckline and just play with scarf tying. For me, I put more weight on how the scarf tying works with my neck, bustline and proportions of the outfit.

Wonderful shade of pink! If I were wearing it with that type of neckline, I’d probably tie it like you did in the second set of pictures.
