sorry to be so needy today! Sheesh. Making up for lost time last week, I guess.

I was thinking of pairing a silk halter with my khaki skirt for a casual dinner out tonight. It's still HOT, but with a/c in mind I tried my racerback flowy vest over the top. I'm not sure . . . but my other option is the cropped khaki moto and I don't want to look like I'm in a khaki suit lol. And would black flats help tie the vest in better or is cream fine? Or should I just brave the halter top by itself? Thanks!

If it's a hot mess, I can always just grab a cute sundress, so don't be afraid to shoot it down

I love it Mo! with either shoe but have a slight preference for the cream flats.

I forgot to add that I like it with the flowy vest best but the halter by itself looks ok too.

I don't think I have ever seen you look anything close to a hot mess! I think it looks great--I actually prefer the halter by itself, but it also looks great with the vest if you need the extra warmth. Both shoes look great as well; my slight preference is for the nude shoe. Have fun!

Thanks - it's good to have the validation that I looked okay! I went with the nude shoe and brought the vest but never needed it. It's THAT hot that even indoors at 8pm a halter is fine

You looked great for dinner. May I ask.... does one wear a strapless bra with a top like that? I'm trying to imagine how undergarments would work.

Brenda, thanks for the compliment. I did indeed wear a strapless bra to dinner, but didn't for the pic. I'm terrible about just throwing stuff on for a quick photo with no proper undergarments, accessories, hair, or makeup! I guess the upside is I usually end up looking more put together than my question outfit posts lol.

I hate to be so picky.. but the skirt don´t match the top, the top is lovely and the skirt is too casual..
Both flats are lovely!

I see what you're saying, Rute. The skirt is such a heavy weight cotton it is still stiff after 6 years. I guess in my head it's more structured than the average khaki skirt but it is still casual, as you say. I also have a hard time with bringing silk in to casual ensembles, and just recently started putting some silk tops with jeans and cotton. It's a learning curve for sure. But this did hit the right note for where we went I think. The touch of silk for after dark but casual skirt for the environment as a whole. I *think* anyway!
I always appreciate honest feedback, good or bad. So thank you!!
