I've bee looking for a puffer in a pewter/ anthracite color since September. I decided that if I couldn't get that, a winterweight leather would be nice. Then I found the color I was looking for. The pewter one photographed a little lighter than it is IRL. I'm keeping both.

Both great coats on you! Yes, it does happen to me. I bought Frye moto boots and then the ones by Miu Miu that I had put on my wish list just to keep the style in mind went on sale for a price that put them in the realm of possibility. I wear them both.

Yes! Last year I wanted a grey sweater...but it was only after I finally found one I liked that I started seeing them everywhere. I have two, but I have been tempted by many more. But that first one was really hard to find.

Who made the puffer?

The puffer is by Zero Extreme. It always happens in the same season. My older puffer is starting to show its age so would have to be replaced after this season.

Yes, I'm familiar with that situation, too! I tell myself to stop looking when I've made the first purchase, but it isn't always possible. I love both jackets and I think they are more than different enough to justify them both. Good for you, no?
