Does this Blazer look like a classic / timeless piece?

I am LOVING this blazer, but for the price I really do not want something that will go out of style 1 or 2 years from now. I think stripes are timeless, but what do you think? I was hunting for a navy or black one, but this one is just too lovely! I do have a cheap black one that looks quite good, so I could hold off on the solid color, if this one is indeed classic.

I think wht lapel will go out of style but I am not a specialist in such matters. The stripe is nice though.

Oh it is lovely Rae - you have such great taste! What kind of fabric is it made of? Is it suitable for all seasons?

Deb just curious, what do you mean by the lapel style?

Merwoman it's a Cotten linen blend. Not sure if that's all season, maybe more lightweight.

Yeah, this is a summer piece, primarily. Cotton/ linen means that it will wrinkle quite a bit...but also drape in a nice way.

I think it will last a few years. Angie was just saying that horizontal stripes look like a lasting trend. But it won't look fashion forward, if that is a goal.

I love the look of it. But I doubt if I would wear it (in this fabrication) in fall/winter.

I concur with Suz's assessment;

I also think that the rounded wide lapels will probably date it faster than some other blazers.

Given all that, I still think it's a versatile piece if your main seasons were spring/summer.

Would be nice for Spring/Summer. I agree with Deb about the lapel - it's quite distinctive and may date the jacket. I am no expert, but, if it's expensive, I would pass. Especially if I can't wear it now and would have to wait for the warmer weather.

I never thought of the lapel, it didn't even occur to me that it was distinct. I guess it's wider than normal? Good points though. I suppose it is summery too.

I think the cut is fairly classic but horizontally striped blazers showed up a few years ago, andcame out in force last winter and spring. Therefore I cannot guarantee the longevity of this look.

Ok a lot of surprises here for me. I had no idea about the lapels, are they considered oversized or something? And I did t know horizontal stripes is kind of a fad....good to know.

I disagree. I vote that this blazer has longevity. Classic stripe, modern classic blazer shape and great lapels.

Yay! Thank you Angie. Not that I don't value everyone's opinions, because I do. I just really didn't see it at first, and I think I kinda really want the jacket too. So I was really hoping it has some sort of timelessness. And if it doesn't, well I'll be rockin it out anyway! haha. I did some comparing though, and I do see now that the lapels are larger than some other jackets. It doesn't bother me though, I don't feel it's too much.
