Does anyone know how to do a color palette on computer ?

As I try to fine tune my wardrobe for the winter, I find that I would really like to put together a color palette on the computer so that I can share it here. But I have no clue how to do it ? Do I need software ? Is it possible my Mac already has the capability ( please don't laugh...LOL ) ?

This is a free web tool that lets you upload a photo and it generates a palette from the photo. Is that sort of what you're looking for?
