I saw these and sorta couldn't look away, couldn't decide whether the outrageousness/unexpectedness was fascinating me in a good way or not.
And no, this is the only version around --- no colours, lace-ups etc. But like Claire was saying, I too wondered if this might be just the thing for when the monsoon shreds shoes still on your feet and moulders the ones in the closet...!
Abie, thanks for the review! Another question, if I may: Did the extra weight make it prone to popping off as you walked? Or did they stay firmly on?
R&J, I like your taste! I have been eyeing those same Clarks in a metallic pale gold for a while too! Tried them on. Very comfy. But actually, I don't think they're a good replacements for Docs --- the leather is soft and lovely, but much more delicate hence wouldn't stand up as well to messy stomping as the Docs I think. But then I've never been in a close encounter with a pair of Docs --- maybe the non-boot styles *are* more delicate?
ETA: Btw, I'm fascinated but was not really looking into buying them. They don't exist in my size here! This is purely academic and a style question more than a shopping one.
