I adore the red ones but fear they are too tall in the shaft as I have a slight gap at the top
So the grey ones look like the winners and will probably be more versatile as the laces make them suitable for skinnies and leggings? x

Personally I don't think the red ones are too tall but you're the one that knows if they're confortable like that.
Are the grey ones ok?They look kind of tight.Or are they suposed to give in a little?

The red ones are butter soft but that gap at the top worries me, on others Angie has said they are too tall because of that gaping.
The grey ones can be tightened or loosened with the laces I just quickly threaded them up so they will need the laces adjusting x

I see the gap you are referring to with the red one's and vote for the gray. I love a lace up boot and wouldn't mind if one showed up on my door.

I vote grey too if they suit your style - red ones are too big on the calf.

The grey ones are fab... the red ones might be great with skinnies to take up some of that space. Are you only wanting to keep one pair? If so, then keep the grey.

I was happy to keep both pairs if they both worked with leggings and dresses as this is what I wear most, so I'd be loathe to keep the red ones if I can only wear them with skinnies x

I don't think that the red ones are too tall so much as they're just too large for your calves. I tend to like my boots with a bit of extra space at the top of the shaft, but I think with leggings those red ones may be just a touch too wide unfortunately.

EDIT: Forgot to say I do like the gray ones though!

I see your point.
If the grey ones are adjustable by all means keep them, they are fabulous and will look good with your dresses and leggings.
You will be fab in the cold days

Ooooh both pairs are very nice!! I can see why you would want to keep the grey's for their versatility.

Do you feel like they are going to be perfect for keeping your feet warm on the playground etc? They sure look it!!

Well that's a unanimous verdict if ever there was one. I'm planning on wearing the grey ones today, and then I have to try and get the most huge box you've ever seen in the car and back to the post office to return the other 3 pairs x

I wish I hadn't given away my old Doc boots - 8-eyelet, oxblood ones. I loved those things and don't know why I stopped wearing them!

I threw them in at the deep end and wore them to work today. They've succesfully completed a 15 minute commute to and from work, 45 minutes playground duty and lots of rushing up and down the corridor. My heels and the fronts of my ankles are a tad tender but nothing crippling so a big thumbs up from me.
Polly I usually take a 6.5 UK so I went with the 7 as they don't come in half sizes. I was able to wear thick socks then x

So glad to hear they were up to the job of playground duty and the commute!! (I am like you and need warm tootsies!!)

I have a pair 15yr old black 8 eyelet Docs that I still wear, and I'm pretty sure ankles were one of the areas that took a bit of wearing in - but now, they are superb, so I hope yours are like a glove in no time.
