Hi Ladies--
I am about to embark on my first Colorado winter in a long time (lived in CO as a child, but moved away and have been gone for a long time). I am in need of some boots to wear as everyday shoes in the winter, walking through snow and around campus.
I wanted to ask you ladies that own Docs how comfortable they are? I honestly have the fussiest feet known to man (I have problems with the nerves and circulation in my feet, so they get cold easy and are often painful with or without shoes exacerbating the problem). I also have extremely high arches (to date I have only ever found 3 pairs of shoes that hit my arches) so I usually wear orthotics in my shoes.
I was totally shocked to find that Angie owned Docs because I always hear horror stories about brutal break ins. I generally can't stand to break shoes in, but if it isn't truly as horrible as some people make it sound I could probably wear my neoprene scuba booties (I used to dive, pre-heart condition).
So ladies, how was the break in for you? Are they really comfy now? Do you think I could wear my orthotics in them (I have regular feet, maybe a little on the narrow side)? Do they dig into your heel once you break them in? How do they fit around the ankle? Would they be warm enough for a snowy winter--- maybe with warm socks?
I am thinking maybe patent leather, or something in oxblood.
