I believe this is sometimes known as "girl math" but I'm not going to call it that because I'm a highly capable statistician and I refuse to be sexist about this.

Right now, I'm really thinking hard about Una (alaskagirl)'s Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots. The ones that are heavenly, luscious, buttery suede and come in divine colors and are nosebleed expensive, even though our darling Una is telling us the $99 ones from Amazon that come in black and brown are a reasonable alternative.

Like THAT's convincing.

Anyway, I'm thinking so hard about those boots that I'm thinking like this. "I talked myself out of the silk Karl Lagerfeld PB blouse because I knew I wouldn't wear it often enough (savings of $300), and I decided to return the J Crew teddy bear fleece vest because it looks sort of blocky on me ($100 back), and I returned something to Neiman Marcus Last Call that was too big ($100 back) and I returned the green dress from COS because the XS was too large ($100 back), so when you add that all up, I'm SO CLOSE to those SW boots!"

I mean, things you've talked yourself out of before you ever bought them do not actually count as "money saved" do they?
