I recently had a bit of a lightbulb moment, and I'm curious how the rest of you feel.
I used to keep pretty much all my clothes "out". My recent house has a decent closet, and with the exception of very summery or very wintery sweaters, I could see it all. I liked that if I was going on vacation, I could easily find my summer clothes in March. Of if there was an unseasonably warm (or cold) day that hit unexpectedly, I could find something appropriate. But as my wardrobe has been growing (thanks YLF ) I've been having to tuck more and more away for the off-season. And all of a sudden, getting the clothes back out, sure it takes time, but it's exciting to see them again, and new combos of wearing them come to mind as they are sorted and hung. I realized that with having them "in my face" all the time, I was getting sick of my clothes, without even wearing them. And so I resolved to figure out a space and system to be more purposeful about only having clothes "out" that were good for the current season.
And then I started reading Mari Kondo's book. And she recommends having her clothes out all the time... just the opposite of what I've realized in fact "gives ME joy".
So what do you do? What do you prefer to do? Realizing ones space sometimes dictates...
