Do you save your shoe and boot boxes?

Regardless of whether the shoes come with a dust bag or not. I don't know why I kind of feel like I should hold onto mine (we're not moving in the foreseeable future, I want to keep them on a shoe rack or out on the floor or a shelf if they're boots, etc). But I have a growing stack of them.

Me too! I have about a dozen in my closet. I tell myself that it is because I have kids and they may need it for a project. But part of it is that some shoe boxes are GORGEOUS!!! Must find a reuse strategy.

I save the really sturdy ones - great for packing and sending gifts to others in the mail. Otherwise, I bust them down and pop them into the recycling box - I have more than enough clutter without them.

Some. Most of my sitting shoes are in their boxes. I purged all the boxes for the shoes in my shoecase. Actually keeping my boxes helped out when I went to consign some stuff.

Doc Martens come in very sturdy boxes, and so do Bed-Stu shoes (with a cool graphic on the box). I have some socks in one of them now until I get my act together and buy some decent storage and closet organizing systems.

I also think somehow...I guess I have a special feeling about my shoes and thus retain the boxes. But Shannon's right; it's clutter.

I have a very small closet and I think I might keep more boxes to store shoes in if I had space.

Funny you mention Doc Martens - because those are the boxes I do keep. Fab for shipping. And I did keep the box my Kate Spade blue pumps and my green Poetic License shoes came in because the boxes were just so pretty.

Yes, all of my boots and shoes live in their boxes. i don't have a shoe rack so I stack the boxes on my shelving closet. The boxes keep my shoes pristine.

For the most part, no. I don't have the space especially for all those huge boot boxes. I do keep the boxes for my sitting shoes because I wear them so rarely that I just store them in their boxes.

i do, until I'm sure the shoes are for me and will not fall apart, in case I need to return them.

I do. I have shelves in my closet and stack my shoes in their original boxes, no more than 2 boxes tall per shelf, so that I can easily grab the pair I need. In the past I used to tape a photo of the shoe on the outside so that I could recognize them at a glance (especially helpful when I have multiple shoes from the same brand) and I think I'll do that again.

yes, for kids' craft etc and also because I often store things in them - either as a drawer divider or for smallish items like photos and cards. For quite a while I used my boot boxes to put things like cake pans or pot lids in, within my cupboard.

I put my better shoes in Container store clear containers so I can see them. I donate the shoe boxes to my daycare for projects (dioramas, valentine's containers etc...)

Never! And that is strange when I think about it as I always trying to sort my closet. But I think they take up waaaaayy more room than the actual shoe.

Yes. I keep all of my shoe boxes because that's how i store my shoes in my closet!

Usually, I never buy shoes at full price, so their boxes are damaged by the time I get my hands on them - I generally recycle them STAT.

I tend to keep the boxes for the really beautiful shoes, as the boxes are generally lovely. I store my shoes in a shoe cupboard but it is on the verge of overflowing, so I may have to resort to boxes on shelves for some lesser worn pairs.

Most of my shoes don't come with boxes, but I tend to save the ones that do - as mentioned above, kids always need a shoe box.

Yes. But they are all about to go to my kid's school for art projects. Pretty much that's why I kept them, anyway.

I only keep the shoe boxes for my designer/pricier shoes, and use them to store the shoes in. I don't wear those shoes a ton, so I like knowing they have some protection from my slightly dangerous closet, and if I ever sell the shoe they're worth more if I still have the box.

I keep a few around for packing gifts and things, but other than that, nope. I'd rather have the shoes out where I can see them than stored in the boxes.

Interesting. I save all (or almost all) shoe boxes. At any time, I may have about half or less of my shoes out on the rack and the rest are stored in shoeboxes in the closets.

For example, right now there is no point in keeping pumps, sandals, hiking boots or even lightweight fall shoes out in the open - we have snow on the ground about waist-high. So they are put away, and many are stored in the original boxes to make them easier to identify. The only out-of-season shoes that are not hidden away are those that I keep at work to change into - I store them in a large box under my office desk.

Some. I might store 'occasional wear only' shoes in a box and in situations where I don't have other closed storage for them (ie they'll sit around gathering dust *and* get in the way of the vacuum and mop otherwise), but usually I keep a few of the sturdier boxes to corral other clutter. Flimsier ones go out fast though, ditto awkward sizes and shapes that won't fit in the designated shelf or storage space.

I keep the boot boxes to store my boots during the summer. During the winter I put my summer sandals in them for storage. They just fit lengthwise on shelves in a spareroom closet.
