Do you look at old outfit posts?

I'm just asking because so far I've always hidden my pictures after a few days when they were no new replies. I am thinking about leaving them visible now that you have to be registered to look at pictures.

I guess I just wanted to know if there is any interest in old outfits (not just mine, but generally). I personally don't go back to old outfits of other people, I just look at them the moment they post them and there's so much new input all the time that I feel it's alright to miss some posts.

Oh yes definitely, I am always searching back through the archives to get inspiration from everybody's outfit pics, especially when I buy something new and I need some ideas how to style it. It is so easy to miss something if you don't have time to log in everyday!

If a member posts a K/R and I'm not familiar with her style or her existing wardrobe I'm likely to look at her old posts before I weigh in. Funny, but sometimes by the time I've formulated an opinion the K/R question has been resolved. No matter, my "research" has been fun and educational. Really, I just enjoy the forum, whether the posts are from this week, last month, last year...

Yes. As a new member it's really helpful in responding to new posts and it's educational when someone's style captures your interest and you want to see other outfits they've put together.

Yes, sometimes I need to remind myself of someone's style. Or I'll suddenly be drawn to someone's style and it helps to be able to go back and get a feel for their style journey.

Yes, I leave my visible. Often I find I want to refer back, can't find the pic on my tablet etc. Same for others, I might recall someone a fabber wore and want to go back to it.

I won't make my old pics visible again - of course it would be interesting to look at the old ones, but honestly I'm glad that some are hidden. I just had no clue when I joined here.

I do. A lot of times I'll see something (like a cool article of clothing in a store or whatever) and be reminded of an outfit someone wore here, and I like to go back and look at them for inspiration.

I also go back and look at my own posts quite a bit, esp. as Deborah says when I'm on my ipad or somewhere where I don't have access to my whole photo library. This is a big reason why I have a lookfab blog, because it's easier to look through only my own posts that way.

Yes, I go back and look at other members old pictures sometimes. It's helpful when they ask for opinions. I leave my old pictures up too, even though some of them are embarrassing.

Yep, even if I don't comment. Sometimes I do it to familiarize myself with someone's style, wardrobe, etc and sometimes it's for inspiration or to help with decision making. For example, just the other day I looked up some of Claire's outfit posts featuring her moto jacket because we're body type twins and I was considering ordering one. Earlier today I was looking for ideas for styling a tweed blazer as I'm thinking of buying one of those, too.

If I am looking for styling ideas for an item (new or orphaned...) ill often search through old posts, usually others since my own dont probably feature the item in question, for inspiration.

I don't spend a lot of time looking at old posts, but I look things up all the time.

I also go back quite frequently - to posts I've favorited for inspiration, or to posts that I remember looking at some time ago. Today I looked way back in Suz's blog for pics of her haircut when she first got it - to see if it's similar to the haircut I got (not very).

Oh yes, definitely. When I want to be reinspired or do a copycat later on or see how someone's style has evolved (that's been very instructional, to see how people have tackled changing style goals)...

Yep, I look back too. I look back at those that I've favorited and sometimes my own when I can't remember how I had previously styled an outfit.

I love being able to go back to my own old posts and see my journey thus far and see old outfits through fresh eyes. I also like to be able to get a feel for others through their previous posts. So a big yay to keeping pics visible!

Once posted, my pictures stay up forever. I do occasionally look back at outfits to see what it looked like, what the comments were, etc. in order to see if I want to wear it again.

Sure do! When folks ask for ideas/inspiration I look back at their older posts to get a sense of what is in their wardrobe. I can def. remember going back to your old posts and not seeing pics.

Sometimes I do look at the older posts for the reasons already mentioned. I never hide my pictures (although maybe I should to hide some really bad ones, especially for K/R...)

Coming back to add that while I do look at old posts a lot, I almost never comment on them because I feel weird bumping a really old thread. So just because there's no new comments that doesn't mean nobody is reading the thread.

Yes I do, if I think I want to re-visit an outfit of somebody's that I liked, I go to their posts to search for it.

It's really useful to be able to do a search when you need something. For example, if I want to research a particular style e.g. Tuxedo jacket, I would use the search to see who has one and how to style it. Astrid, I remember you had a thread on what to wear to a formal event and ended up with separates. That was a really helpful lesson that we don't always have to buy a dress for such dos.
