I prefer them as gear, that is, to be worn for actual boating activities. Or to be worn by men as a casual shoe. I have memories of boating with male family members wearing these, it brings back good feelings. In spite of my generally good feelings about Topsiders, I voted "nay" as a fashion shoe with this outfit. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned.

I think they're great. Wore them in high school myself, but couldn't pull them off now. You'd look fab in them. Love the idea of a fun color or metallic!
