Do you have a style "emergency" kit ?

Do any of you have a style "emergency kit". If so, what does it consist of or what do you think should go in it ? Do I even need one ?

Mine has the following and is always with me :

double sided Hollywood tape ( instead of safety pins )
little eyeglass cleaning cloth ( doubles for shoes, watch, bag etc )
deodorant eraser ( I LOVE this thing - did I say how much I LOVE this thing )
mini mascara ( avon, mark hook ups - this is also great for gray root touch up )
mini eyelash curler ( sephora )
mini cream blush/lip tint (http://shop.avon.com/shop/product.aspx?pf_id=30489)
mini concealer pencil ( avon, mark hook ups )
a small tube of sunblock
tweezerman mini tweezer
vaseline in a small pill container ( for winter )

It all fits into a very small pencil bag or mini-zip lock.

I would be interested to know what else you would recommend or something that has worked for you.

Tweezers! (I hate finding a stray brow hair after I've left the house for the day. I feel like everybody can see it too!)
Hand lotion
Four lip colors - Nude, raspberry, pinky nude, and red
Concealer and spot treatment in case I get a break out
Cream blush
Matchstick double sided garment tape for the oops moments
I also carry a small makeup bag containing eyeshadows in various shades, mascara, liners, eyelash curlers, and makeup brushes. M-F I do my eyeshadow in the parking lot at work before I go in.

I have a dance emergency kit that I take to recitals for dd that has oh gosh- everything but the kitchen sink. (bobby pins, rubber bands of various sizes and colors, all of her stage make up, safety pins, a sewing kit, hollywood tape, q-tips, make up remover.....)
I don't carry very much with me, though. Usually I just have lip balm/gloss and shine sheets. If I am going to be gone all day, I may throw a blush and compact in.

Hand sanitiser gel,
Blister plasters and a couple of regular plasters,
Mini nail file,
Glasses wipes,
Antiseptic wipes,
Spot gel,
Couple of hair elastics
3 lip balms (don't know why i have this many!)
Inhaler, Antihistamine tabs, painkillers, allergy eye drops and 2 aromatherapy headache relief rollerballs
All stored in a mini make up bag which goes from handbag to handbag x

I do carry a medical bag that has hand sanitizer, band aids, medicines (allergy, migraine, pain reliever), feminine protection, and a nail file

I don't. But I know I should. I usually have Chapstick, a powder compact, a nail file, lip gloss and lipstick in my purse, and a hand sanitizer in my car, but that's about it. I used to have baby wipes all the time, but once my kids were out of diapers the baby wipes were no longer a priority and always ended up dried out before I could use them.

Tweezers are definitely becoming a priority though. Hello - chin hair! Yikes!

A Tide stain remover pen and cuticle balm (this is in a drawer at work) is all I have.

What is this deodorant remover stick? I've never heard of such a thing.

My kit changes a little, depending on what I'm doing.

For every day, all fitting in a little makeup case plus a small plastic zip bag that just moves from handbag to handbag:

an O.B. tampon (so tiny and convenient)
a self-wrapped pantyliner
a hair elastic
Two small hair clips
powder compact
eyeliner
lipstick
Two strips of Hollywood Tape
mini-lotion
emery board

Tide pen
Hand sanitizer
headache tablets
coffee breath antidote (gum)

When I'm traveling (meaning, away from home, other than work, for more than 6-8 hours) I use a bit more extensive kit, adding:

anti-diarrhoea tabs
baby wipes in a small zip-bag
small sunblock in a spray or stick
contacts case
extra pair of panties - they take up very little room and you just.never.know.

* If you think the TravelMate is weird or gross or something like that, you simply do not know the joy of confronting hideous or non-existent toilet facilities in a 3rd world country. This little gadget is, truly, one of the best inventions I have ever come across. I've been using one for more than five years. Even though I am living now in the comparatively spotlesscleanandshiny U.S. I use it all the time. No more trousers pooling on a suspiciously damp-looking public restroom floor! Ladies, I have been liberated!!!

Jenny, I have to ask, where do you use the TravelMate. I mean, do you take it inside a public restroom or...?

I don't carry any sort of emergency kit. I just have numerous tubes of lip gloss and lip balm, gum, band-aids if I think my shoes are going to hurt, and kleenex.

These answers got me thinking, I need more stuff - band-aids, my inhaler....how funny, I am more concerned about my dark circles than my asthma !!

JENNY, a deodorant eraser is a little sponge that wipes deodorant stains off of clothes. I was skeptical, but now I believe. It also works well with any powdery substance or dirt. I cut it in half and keep it with me always. It even gets the deodorant stains out the the armholes. You can buy them at thelaundress.com and other places.

Marianna, I use it anywhere. Public restrooms? Absolutely. The only thing about that that gave me pause at first is that I thought someone would (peeking at my fabulous shoes from beneath the stall) notice my feet pointing toward the toilet, realise I was peeing standing up and wonder whether I was actually a dude.

Then I looked in the mirror and laughed at the very idea.

hee hee hee - but really, that was the only thing that made me slightly self conscious at first. I got over it.

It was great for Italy's squatty potties (are you familiar with those?) I actually like squatty potties much better than regular toilets but they can be a little challenging if you're wearing tights or trousers.

I have also used it along the roadside in places where the concept of "rest stops" is unknown. If you're wearing a skirt you can do it so discreetly that no one will even know what you're doing

I was grateful to have it after having major surgery with abdominal incisions that made it very painful to sit down and stand up.

Even in relatively clean places - a department store ladies room, for example - I like knowing that I don't need to examine the seat, clean it off, hover, etc.

Sorry for my bizarre zeal for such an odd little thing.

Jenny, thanks for the info, that's fascinating. I'm a public restroom germ-phobe so it's nice to know that there are alternatives out there. I honestly don't see myself using one of those on a day to day basis, but I bet it would be really convenient for travel, or for times when you really need to go but are not near a restroom.

And I assure you, no one would ever think you're a guy.

-Bandaids and friction block for shoes, if I fear they may hurt or rub
-Hair brush. Not as necessary these days, but will come into use again when I grow my hair out again.
-Nail clipper and file. I am prone to getting hangnails. I promise I either do this out of sight or VERY discreetly, and only in an emergency situation where a nail breaks.
-Aveda hand lotion, winter only
-Hand sanitizer

I can't seem to remember to put on my moisturizer every day, so I might start carrying that around too until I remember to make it part of my routine.

Public bathrooms horrify me and I only use them if I absolutely HAVE to and will make every effort not to touch anything. I am such a germophobe. I'm surprised I don't carry around vinyl gloves with me.

I also carry my glasses and contact case filled with fresh solution when I know I'll be wearing my contacts for a long time. Unfortunately I'm struggling with a really bad case of dry eye right now, so I haven't worn contacts in months Finally saw the doctor about it though.

You all make made me laugh with your toilet stories. While going to visit my BF's daughter several months ago we stopped at a petrol station to go to the loo OMG it was awful no loo paper and needed a good clean but hey when you gotta go!! I have since bought a mini roll of loo paper and a mini bottle of antibac cleaner which i keep in the car just in case x

Ah yes squat toliets - tricky at the best of times and almost impossible on a moving train!

I normally carry:

- small packet of tissues
- lip balm
- stain remover wipes (you can get little packs from M&S)
- hand sanitizer wipes
- nail file
- spare hair tie and clips
- hair defrizz lotion
- face powder
- panadol

and if I am wearing them a spare pair of sheer pantyhose.

Hmm...As far as that stuff goes, I usually have lipstick (although I rarely wear it), lip balm, lotion (year round), a comb, baby wipes (need them for the kids, but they're actually really good at getting stains out, too - we used them at the bridal store I used to work at if we got anything on a wedding dress or if we got some of the dye from dying the shoes on something it wasn't supposed to be on.) Oh, and usually a bottle of detangling spray (definitely way more for my daughter than for me.) I keep thinking about throwing some dryer sheets in a ziplock baggie for static-y hair and clothing issues, but I never actually do it.

This has turned out to be a fun thread! I carry as much as I can fit into a gorgeous 6x4" orange textured Club Monaco wallet my cousin gave me for christmas. Right now I have in it:
Clinique mini lipstick quad
Clinique mini mirror
Cover Girl Lip pencil
Mini Maybelline sheer pink gloss tube
Nail file
Mini Revlon Tweezer
Shine blotting sheets
OB tampon

But regardless of whatever I have or don't have, I ALWAYS have a small bottle of hand lotion/cream in my bag/clutch. I'm a bit OCD about keeping my hands moisturized
