Do you have a boyfriend???

Dear YLF members,
I LOVE my boyfriends (hahah). I remember like in 2006, when nobody was sporting this look and even though I am a petite pretty pear I bought a dark crisp pair of men jeans. I felt so special, edgy, fashion-forward and COMFY. And now they are everywhere. I know I am pushing here the rules of style, because by no means they are making me look less pear shape or taller or more in balance. But I still feel fab like I did in my first pair when I was 2 or 3 sizes less and I had no post baby belly.
So, do you have a boyfriend yet???

You know maybe I will dip my toe in the trend. I like how some of the ladies on here wear booties with them, it's a look that does have some appeal. So never say never eh?

I found mine in a thrift store. We garden and camp out together but that's the extent of our relationship.

I am with you Diane G, never say never. That's what happened to me with tapered trousers. Do you want to laugh? Just look at this pic I've just scanned. I attended to my best (girl-)friend wedding in 1998 (I think it was that year). Look a me! My gosh. Just afterwards I saw the pic and I said to myself never tapered trousers for me. And years later I am just wearing tappered cargo's and turquois chino's and boyfriend.

Ramya, I guess it does count. I've had that a lot because I do not know how but I buy a pair and they fit ok, after a couple of months then they become boyfriend. You see, this is because I do not like constricting clothes and after some wearing and washing jeans just get bigger (most of the time).

Lantana, it is just as fine relationship. Not all your relationships have to long and intense. You can just choose to have casual meetings to have fun. Hahaha!

Ingunn, I just had to settled down with this one because of budget issues. I am now looking for a more formal BF to upgrade myself.

I think pretty pear's look great in boyfriend jeans. I recently picked up a pair myself from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and couldn't be happier with them. And you can't beat how comfortable they are.

My jeans usually go saggy, so I've had unintentional boyfriends. No true love, yet, though.

BlondeAmbition - this is exactly what I was going to ask. I see so many styles of jeans labeled "boyfriend" that I think I just don't understand what makes a pair boyfriend!

You look good in yours! I have a pair but mine are a tighter fit than most people on the forum. I just don't like super baggy clothes on me, so I adjusted the style to work for me.

I love your boyfriends with the button down shirt! The contrast of the belt and the shirt pattern is beautiful. You look great.

I had an "aha!" moment a few weeks ago when I put on my actual boyfriend's jeans. (The upside of dating a guy who isn't much taller/bigger than I am is wearing his clothes.) His Levi's felt so comfortable, had deep pockets, and actually looked cool on me - unlike all the "boyfriend jeans" I've tried on in women's sections. I definitely recommend men's worn-in Levis! Should be easy to find new or thrifted (or snag from any close men of similar size).

I shrunk my boyfriends. That is my story and I'm sticking to it (licks coffee cake crumbs off of fingers). I think I didn't size up enough. Love yours on you!

Like Sara L, I wear mine a little more fitted, but yes, I love them (Gap sexy boyfriends).

You manage your boyfriend so well. And always nice to know you were forward of fashion.

Being more backward of fashion, and creeped out by droopy-butt pants on me, poison-eyed to ripped pants on adults who aren't working in construction or barnyards, anti-heels for me, and allergic to the leg shortening roll hem on me (see why I'm so backward?!) I am one of the handful of females between 8 and 80 who haven't at least actually tried them.

But I'm thinking about it. I saw a pair of "slim boyfriends" in the JJill catalog that actually speak to me. I know JJill fits me like a dream (I avoid the droopy drapey styles because they're not me). These jeans have a long lean clean line with barely more faded areas where other brands would gouge some good rips, and I might not die from trying a roll in fall/winter footwear.

Maybe I'm not made for boyfriends, but then maybe I should at least have coffee with one.
