I clicked on the link to the Data Closet post that Kari posted today, and I was struck by one of her rules--for each thing she purchases she discards 2 things.

I may be in the minority here. I get the feeling I shop a *lot* less than many on here, because I only buy a handful of things at two points in the year, and otherwise really don't shop. But I don't get rid of things just as a response to new things coming in. It seems to me that this would enable a bit of an unhealthy phenomenon, where you never have to come to grips with the poorer decisions you've made shopping in the past.

Then again, maybe it's a reality that for some, keeping a pared down closet is what equals wardrobe success, and this is how they do it! For me, I only get rid of something when it has aged or I decide I no longer like it. The latter almost never happens. My wardrobe is smallish, which is how I like it. I'm curious if I have any kindred spirits on here.

Can you tell I'm taking a sick day today? Commenting on all the threads.
