My word, as Chanukah enters its 5th night, the weather situation for our Christmas celebration is putting me in a tizzy.
We may or may not have crippling ice, extensive power outages, flooding, gale-force winds, snowfall, you name it and we will have either just LMA with us or LMA and 3 Asian friends joining us for Christmas weekend (all their non-Asian friends in NYC are away for a holiday), or we may have just the two of us, depending on what actually occurs with the weather.
So I'm feeding 6 or 3 or 2 and on which day is unclear. That's easy to plan for, right?
I shall be thankful for a spacious freezer, a husband who stocked up on some basics at the grocery today, 40 years experience in the kitchen that have taught me I can cook anything out of almost anything, and living near well-stocked Asian, Italian, and Latin grocery stores.
