I’ve had a fitness watch for almost a year and don’t regret purchasing it. It has motivated me to move more often than not, and I like keeping track of my heart rate and exercise habits. That said, wearing it daily (darn Move streaks!) has started to feel oppressive in terms of style.

For several years, my jewelry has been extremely minimal, and I have worn the same rings and earrings day-in, day-out. It’s a look that works for me in terms of both style and lifestyle. I’ve also had a specific “jewelry” watch on my radar—one that would coordinate well with my earrings and bands, and make me feel a bit more dressy—but realize that if I got it, I’d probably need to stop wearing the fitness watch; if I didn’t, it wouldn’t be worth getting.

What do the rest of you health of fitness afficiandos do? Alternate watches? Wear both? Or live with the tension, prioritizing either fashion/style or fitness/function?
