Do these shoes qualify for use with skirts and dresses?

I have listened to advice to find a lower vamp shoe for dresses..but I am truly not a pump kinda gal. I tried to make myself buy a pair of low wedge type pumps..but I cannot seem to do it. I am more attracted to these heeled loafers. Can I use these as a semi low vamp shoes for dresses? Do you recommend for certain skirt types and not others? Like is a line ok with these but not pencil? Any help appreciated...shoes are a blank for me..

Yes, but it depends on the dress or skirt! A classic dress or a pencil skirt no, but I can see it with a trendy baggy dress with opaque tights!

These are cute! They have a heavier look than a more classic loafer because of the sole. In my mind, that makes them more casual.

I can't picture where the vamp would hit a foot, but I've certainly seen loafers like these look cute with tights and dresses/skirts.

I used to own a pair of these and 'thought' they looked good with skirts/dresses in a sporty, preppy way. I have a wider foot and love the vamp to cover part of it. To me, their vamps look similar.

Hi Jayne! I also struggle with pumps, and in fact I don't own any - I wear the next nearest thing, which is booties.
The shoe you have posted would I think go readily with a wide bottomed casual maxiskirt- but I agree with Rute that a pencil skirt at any length could be tricky. And that opaque tights would be good.
Here' s something similar - not really "low vamp" that might work anyway - these Chanel mules with a wedge heel. ( note opaque tights again!)

The sole on those is very 90's. I personally don't like it.

I think they would be fine with any heavy, winter weight (like wool, lined) skirts and dresses. Or even a dark denim skirt for that matter. Cute.

I can understand not liking pumps and I think something like this would be a good alternative to wear with dresses and skirts. I'm not sure about that thick wedge heel though. I think I would have to see them on before I say yes or no to these.

Thanks for the input. Sara and lbg, those links are to some fab shoes. gorgeous. I have to order something like those.

But what I am getting the impression of is that pencil skirts can only be used with low vamp shoes, or very feminine shoes, like MaryK does. and I hope heeled sleek boots? I could limit them to that...I have lady boots.

Pencil skirts can certainly be worn with boots. And booties. And mid-height lace up boots. And all kinds of things.

I think the reason they might not work with this particular shoe is a combo of the wedge platform (although I wear platform mid-height lace-ups with pencil skirts) AND the loafer style, which seems to connote something casual or schoolgirl. To tell the truth I think it would depend on the wearer's legs and how dressy or casual she wanted to be. These would de-bombshell a pencil. But they feel quite casual.

I don't wear pumps or low vamp shoes. I'd suggest something like my Dansko Ryders, which I know we're all sick of but they are versatile and comfortable and a little rocker with the studs. 181 positive reviews!
