Do rayon and cotton look funny together?

I'm thinking of the combo of dress pants, like the Express Editors, and patterned cotton button downs...

I don't think so either; at least I've never noticed anyone pairing the two and thinking, 'oh, this looks odd!'

The only reason I can think of that would make them look funny together is if the fabrics seem to belong to radically different seasons.

I just got my Express Editors, and love the way they look and fit. I wouldn't hesitate to wear them with cotton shirts. The fabric of these pants is not that thick, which makes them suitable to wear most of the year, and the finish is matte. Like Janet said, the only reason the fabrics might not work is if it looks like you're mixing very different seasons. Hope this helps.

Ok. I shall have to give it a try then, maybe my printed button downs could work. I'm not sure if they are the right weight, although they are all-season like the pants. They may be too casual too; if they were solid, polished cotton I probably wouldn't think twice. I'm averse to silk, although I know that would look good.

Actually, rachylou, when I bought Editor pants for my DD, Express had a sale going on so I also bought her some button-down shirts. She wears the shirts with the pants and looks just fine.
