Do I order??? - YouLookFab Forum

I've decided after much thought not to pursue buying a white leather jacket for spring/summer. I'm just not convinced I will wear it enough and I hate the thought of trying to keep it clean (arms and elbows in particular). I have decided instead to see if I can find a white leather vest - no arms to deal with, easier to wear when the hotter weather arrives, and tons of layering possibilities. I also know I'm not going to do the faux leather thing - I want the real deal.

I've been unsuccessful so far until finding this sweetheart this morning on eBay - Rock n' Republic, perforated, white leather, bomber style vest. One size left in large. I teeter between a medium and large and don't mind if this is slightly oversized, since that's trending now days anyway. The seller has provided measurements which I've checked on myself and they are good. My one concern is the length - at 22" the hem will hit me on my lower hip/upper thigh. Not the most flattering for me but again, the oversized longer look is trending.

There are no returns and the shipping is pricey (so what else is new?) so I need to be pretty sure.

1. What do you think of the style for me?
2. Do you think the length would be unflattering?
3. Is it worth the risk?

Find out if it's original Rock and Republic. They used to sell at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman's. Then they went bankrupt and are now sold at Kohl's. It's not worth it if it's Kohl's stuff.

I am not sure about the longer length combined with the bomber style (which is tough for the hourglass/curvy shape) for a petite. I like the texture on the leather quite a bit as it isn't the standard look. The price is quite reasonable though so if it failed, you would not be hugely out of pocket.

I am questioning the usefulness of leather for our spring/summer. We seem to go from -20 to +20 in a week and I don't know that I would find leather comfortable in our typical 30-35C summer weather.

Hrm... do you have anything at home you can use to approximate the proportions? I have trouble visualizing the length and shape you talked about. Might be doable over a column of color?

I think the ribbing of this might hit you in an awkward spot and then puff out. Open wouldn't be as much of an issue. I think a straight cut vest might work better for you?

Totally agree Ceit - moving on ladies and I can't thank you enough for keeping me from making a mistake. This is one of the reasons why I love YLF!!!

It looks too long for a petite. I vote pass. I am hoping you find something similar because I love the idea.

I would pass because it looks like a banded hem, and with the long length, I think it may be a no go.

Holy moly , $45 shipping charges and no returns? I vote no.

I think it might be too long on you and the banded hem would give me pause - limits your styling options. If you could return I'd be more comfortable.
