Do I need to tweak my make-up?

So I was at the downtown Nordstrom the other day getting a MAC brow gel. For the record their tinted brow gel is the best, better than Nars and Anastasia. I also found a new bright pink lipstick.
I really like my mascara, blush and bright lip look. It's super easy with a big impact. Sometimes a liquid liner.

The MAC artist was doing the hard sell for me to come to a beauty trend event.
I buy a new lipstick so often depending on what's trending. Years ago I would do elaborate eye make-up, but now seriously I can't be bothered. Sometimes for a special event I'll get my make-up done, but that's like once or twice a year.
I'm not sure how much I'd really get out of going to such an event.
What do you think?

I don't think it is worth it, personally. I think you look gorgeous in all of your photos. I don't know what you would want to change when everything looks like it works so well already. I never notice anyone's eyeshadow/foundation/blush unless it is unflattering or poorly applied. The only thing I'm likely to notice is lippie especially if it is a pretty color. Of course, this is coming from someone who only changes eyeshadow when MAC discontinues a color. YMMV--lol!

IMO the Trend Events are more to get people in the doors, and you are pretty up on trends on your own. If you feel like you'd want a different look as an option for dates or meetups or something where you want to use softer colors or be more casual, I think it would be better to make an appointment with the resident Beauty Stylist. They know all the brands and aren't attached to any of them, so they can be super honest and combine products from different lines to get the perfect effect. Just my two cents.

I think if you are itching for a change - go. Otherwise it's more like them seeking you out instead of the other way around. You seem hesitant...

Sorry to hijack, but Rae - can you explain? Nordstrom has Beauty Stylists? I went in for a makeover at the MAC counter and was not happy with the results. I looked like a clown but then again, I never wear makeup. I thought I would try Bobbi Brown next, but you're saying I don't have to go to a specific counter??

Kristin, yes! I cannot remember if all stores have them, but the Beauty Stylists are awesome. They are not connected to the Personal Stylists, but it is the same idea: they know the entire stock of cosmetics and will mix and match for you - everything from serums to the makeup itself. Here is a link with an online booking option as well as a phone line (not all stores are set up for online booking yet).

I don't know if it's the Girly-Girl side of me or what - but, I love these kinds of things. I know, going in, that they are trying to sell their products - but I figure that it's always good to learn about new colors and "stuff" - so, I would definitely go for it - it's just fun!

depends, I think if you sub to a some good beauty blogs you will end up knowing more about what is coming up in the the beauty world than some of the sales people in the Dept stores.
