Do i need to tailor these pants?

So i got a pair of red cropped pants, that i'm loving on everyone else. But i'm not loving on me.
They're not loose enough to be slouchy pants. Does the bottom of the leg need to be tapered a bit? I think it looks a bit awkward, as it is. Maybe i'm just styling them all wrong?
suggestions?

Maybe the dark shoes cut my legs off too much.

I agree- taper the pant legs and pair with lighter footwear. That should do the trick.

ok, the pants are at the tailor. Since the fabric is not stretchy, he suggested putting an invisible zipper at the hem, so i can get them on/off easier. Hope it helps!

I also wonder if the length is giving you trouble? I wonder how it would look with an inch more or so?

Good call, hope you love them even more. I wanted to add that using a belt that was as wide as the loops would be fab.

Well, I differ from everyone else here. I think they look good as they are on you, it's their style. They are supposed to look out-of-whack / funky / too short, and I like the look with these shoes. If I had your legs, I would certainly wear them like this. I have seen some people sport this style nicely with utility shirts, longer jackets (just like what you did) and fedoras.

I wonder if tapering them won't destroy the cut. Clearly they are not made to be cigarette pants, but if you taper the leg, that is the look you kind of get, except with a seat that is too roomy. A kind of slightly slouchy cigarettes... IMO to look good as slouches, they would need to be even slouchier.

So I wouldn't touch them and rock them as they are. Maybe your eye will get used to this fun, offbeat and androgynous style.
