Do I need an iconic black moto jacket

My black leather jacket is collarless with lacing up the side by Nanette Lepore. It's a bit dressy. I have the black woven leather Improvd moto, but that is summer only because you can feel the slightest hint of breeze.
Other leathers:
White moto with band collar and random quilting (total workhorse for me)
Cognac-caramelly leather moto by Carven.
Chocolate suede moto by Alexander Wang
Dark purple fireworks moto by MSGM
Orange perforated moto
Tan leather jacket, very basic style, spent a small fortune getting it altered, to end up not wearing it.
Long chocolate leather trench, also had altered and still don't wear it.

Or do I need a intervention?

That is a beautiful classic jacket. You would wear it to death. Maybe you can sell the unworn to offset your need for an intervention!

I do wear mine all the time. It works with outfits that would be too OTT with,say, my turquoise quilted leather moto. Mine has black hardware and the leather has a slightly distressed texture which I prefer over shiny, smooth leather.

What colour was James Dean's hardware? I kinda like the gold. Would look good with your hair.

I say ditch the ones you won't wear for one you will. You clearly do wear leather.

Yeah, sounds to me like you need to pare down your leather collection for pieces you know you will always reach for.

Do you feel a need for a black leather moto? You have so many other leather jackets that I'm wondering if it would get a lot of use or if you've noticed that a black one would fill a wardrobe hole.

Both of those motos have a super heavy duty masculine vibe. Do you feel like that vibe is a piece that is missing from your wardrobe? I'd love a jacket like that when I have to walk through a sketchy area tomorrow night!

IMHO, I think the belts on both of those jackets would make one look huge through the waist. I recognize that figure flattery is not a top goal for you, but I also think those jackets are not nearly as interesting as your other ones. Lastly, I prefer non-black next to your face due to your coloring. But if you go for a black leather moto, get the one with the gold hardware for your hair and for uniqueness.

T'd think style first and then color. Sure, funny colors are hard to wear, but a leather jacket ought to really FEEL good and look fab with a variety of bottoms, and/or dresses. I don't like the belty things hanging because that adds fussiness, to me. I also need the collar to not flop and do funny things. ( take this with extra salt, coming from a person with only one leather clothing item, ever, currently a chocolate brown leather jacket.)

I can't imagine a black moto not being a necessity for everyone! But the first thing that strikes me is that you don't have one, so is this a perceived need or would it actually fill a wardrobe hole? In other words, if you would have reached for one in the past if you had it in the closet then it is a worthwhile buy, but if you really haven't missed not having it, then don't bother. They aren't for everyone. You clearly like and wear leather, but the black motorcycle jacket is a completely different feel from coloured leathers (which are fantastic, too).

Well, I'm trying to think in context of your recent epiphany that you like your shoes and jackets to be interesting. I am not sure this style fits that description per se. I personally feel your fireworks moto gives the same vibe but is way more unique.

And if you are looking for the oposite, something to go with more ALGO tops, then I'd vote for something even more pared down with less detail... like a leather jacket version of your BB shirt.

I'm not even clicking on the link. I saw your list of leather, and I'm thinking you might just have the same love of leather that I do. It just draws me in. I love the look of it, the feel of it, heck, even the smell of it. I just don't love wearing it as much as I do fondling it.

If you're not wearing the all leather you already own, then wait on any iconic black leather.

Make yourself wear each current leather piece at least TWICE before you buy any more. If after the second wearing, you don't still love that piece, decide why and let it go (sell? donate?)

After you've made your way through your current collection, you might have room for iconic black, or an understanding of why you're not wearing. . .

Wear them to work then!

Just make yourself wear them - to see if they still have a place in your heart and your closet! Sometimes just wearing one is annoying, and you won't know unless you wear it.

If it has been a year or two, our tastes and preferences shift. You won't know it until you force yourself to wear it.

Sara has a good idea... Even if it takes you a long time to wear the others, the good thing about iconic jackets is they will always be around

Wow! That's a pretty impressive collection of leathers your way, Anna. My concern is the colour, as you are blonde-so chocks, tans and purple ones may suit you/your wardrobe, better. Perhaps it's not quite haphazarduous you didn't buy one iconic in black up to date:-). You even have that one dressier, and that's probably how you feel about black leather...It surely can make some sense to consider this point, too.
