Do I need a hip length denim jacket as well as a cropped one?

Similar to my other question. I don't want to buy more than I need. I don't have a lot of space. I would wear the cropped one with dresses. I could wear it with jeans if the shirt was long enough to hide the muffin top I tend to get with jeans. Even without muffin top I think cropped might look better with a longer top over jeans or pants. I am definitely keeping a blue faded cropped denim jacket.

Question is do I need a high hip length one as well? I have a denim blazer in that length in a dark wash but I was wondering if I needed a faded hip length Levis trucker & a cropped faded Levis trucker? Thanks

I have a cropped one that I wear with dresses a LOT, and a longer one that I wear with pants significantly less often. It really depends on what you plan to wear it with more; if you wear jeans often and won't wear them together, it may be fine to just keep a cropped one for dresses. If you wear trousers and want to dress them down with something other than your current denim blazer, then having a second longer one for pants could be a good idea.

Personally I would say that the longer one is unnecessary, since I almost never wear my denim jackets with long pants. This is mostly because 95% of my long pants are denim and I don't do denim on denim (even if they are different colors, I don't like the uniform texture). But, like Aida says, if you wear a lot of trousers, then a longer denim jacket might be a good option. However, I'd add that I think the classic denim jackets (like the Levi's trucker) are really outerwear because of their stiffness (blazers are a different story and can be worn with a winter coat over) and therefore only really suited for warmer/moderate weather when you'd be less likely to wear trousers.

I only have a semi-cropped one. It's not SO cropped that it looks odd w jeans and it hits right about where the waistband of my jeans hits. I also mainly wear mine with skirts and dresses, but have worn it several times also with cords and white denim. I think you could probably get away w just the cropped one as long as it's not super cropped so that it looks out of proportion when wearing pants.

I'd say that since you have the cropped jacket, which sounds like you have plenty of styling ideas for, and the denim blazer...you don't really need the hip length denim jacket also. I would keep my eyes peeled for a fab blazer/jacket in a color that will give you a totally different look.

OK, I actually don't wear white jeans (I have issues with the visible butt seam and have never found a pair that doesn't show it), so keep in mind this is just a hypothetical answer... but I think I would choose something like a lightweight cotton or linen blazer in a fun color. (Maybe like the linen Gibson blazer in the YLF store.)

Thanks ladies:) I think I will return hip length one. I've never had white jeans before. I'm not sure what jackets I usually wear in summer. I think it's always been a wardrobe hole for me. I had a cotton moto but I gave it away cos it sat weird when undone. I usually only wear wool blazers in winter & not any in summer cos cotton & linen ones tend to look scruffy & I think of blazers as being something more I don't know, pressed or dressy or something. I will look at the Gibson blazer.

ETA: now if I keep white jeans (gonna need to post pics) I may finally get to wear my denim blazer. I hope the dark wash doesn't stain my white jeans though.

Once I bought a cropped denim jacket, my old hip-length one has gone mostly unworn (to be fair, it's also a little big on me now). I keep the old one around for cold weather layering for really casual days (dog park, etc) because it's so easy to launder, unlike other jackets. But if I were you, I'd get the cropped one and see if that doesn't fit the bill.
