I see that you have already decided to return the second one, but I couldn't help but chime in and say that I am in the minority... I think that they look totally different and that you could style them to be great indoors. I Also felt that the second one looked soft and comfortable and could be dressed up. I really love them both on you. That's my two cents.

Maybe I'm reaching but in full disclosure I have a coat/jacket addiction and tend to count subtle differences as a good enough reason to keep both. So here's what I see. Choice 1 is more structured fitted and more traditionally military/cargo style. Choice 2 is just more modern fluid him and futuristic to me. I love them both though I am partial to #2 for your style if you can ONLY keep 1 jacket. However I believe there is room for both. They may be the same color but they each have a different feel. (Am I reaching?)

Good choice on keeping the first one ..... that jacket really stood out as a keeper!
