Do I ditch the square toe pumps!?

Hi everyone! I have been reading the blog for months - which I love. I am new to the forum though. I am a working mom in my mid 40's and live outside of DC.

My question is do I keep my cole Hahn nude patent pumps with a square toe since they are out of favor? They are the perfect heel height of 2 inches so I am comfortable at work running around. See pic 1&2.

I have added 2 more nude styles for the summer. First caged lace up also 2 inches and very comfortable. These have a sandal vibe though. Pic 3
Second I added d'orsey pointed toe flats which are great but not as refined as pumps. Pic 4.

Do I keep or dump the square toe in pic 1&2 and replace with pic 3&4? Can I keep the pumps in rotation without looking frumpy?

This is a tough one, Normally I say get rid of it, but I am such a fan of Cole-Hahn that I hesitate. Still, I think the new shoes are much more on trend, so I would let the old shoes go.

Do you have room to store them? When it comes to shoes, I sometimes like to add new and updated versions of shoes I already have, and keep the older versions just in case I ever want to wear them again (and they are still different enough from the other two pair). But if you don't have the room, I really do love how updated the shoes are in 3 and 4 and would vote replace. [But I may not be the right person to ask because I believe that a person can never have too many nude shoes... and I will die on that hill. Seriously. One day I will post a pic of how many I have. It's embarrassing.]

Since you wear the square-toed shoes, and they are comfortable, I would definitely keep them and keep wearing them if you like them. I don't think they look frumpy.

I tend to hoard my out-of-style but quality shoes. I don't wear them consistently, but I always hold out hope and think they will come back in style some day. Re: Birks. Of course, back in style always has a slight variation, but CH is classic. I say keep if you have the room and wear 3&/or 4 now. I would wear the CH occasionally today as well.

I would keep wearing them unless you feel that you need to be cutting edge. The toe is not that square, but more rounded. They don't look frumpy to me and will blend in with your outfit. That is, they aren't "Look at me" shoes.

I'd keep them if you have room. I don't think the square toe is so pronounced that it makes them look obviously dated. They just look classic to me. And I feel like a no-fail comfortable shoe for when you need to look dressier or more conservative is a good thing to hold onto! (And I was the Nay vote just now, but I realized I should clarify that I meant "don't dump them.")

Thank you to everyone for your thoughtful and quick replies. I will plan to wear my new, on trend shoes in heavy rotation, but will keep the pumps since they are quality shoes on my top shelf and wear them for more formal occasions.

I think your decision not to toss the CHs is a good one. If they are a quality shoe and feel good and have a reasonable heel, you hate to give them up! Also, fashion is cyclical, and it's very possible that square toes will come in again at some point. I will also say that I like both of your new pairs of shoes!

Dated-schmated- those pumps are lovely!
All of those shoes have different functions- the pumps are dressy, the caged sandals are trendy but not dressy and the flats are casual. The nude flats will not be able to replace the nude pumps in terms of function. Waving!

I vote keep if you have the space in your closet. They are classic and comfy. The square toe is slightly rounded, which add a classic vibe. Love the new shoes, too. They are very different and doesn't really count as replacements, rather on-trend and casual additions.
