Do either of these pearls work with this dress?

I don't think so but I am also very inexperienced with accessorizing. I think if the dress didn't have the neck detail it might be able to handle pearls. I also don't know what length to buy pearls in. Maybe I am not a pearl girl either but I find scarves too hot in Summer.

maybe a chunkier pearl necklace? or a really long strand that you can twist and shape would give it a more modern edge if that's the look you are going after....

Personally, I think #1 works. #2, not so much.

The length in #1 is very good on you, with very pleasing proportions. Chunkier wouldn't hurt, but the pearls have enough presence that it isn't necessary. A thick chain of the same length (or many other kinds of necklaces) could also be effective here. If it didn't have enough shine, it would have to be thicker than the pearls though. The pearls work even though they are relatively fine because of their lustre and also because of the colour contrast. Absent either of those factors, you would have to increase something else to avoid the necklace looking lost and overwhelmed.

I prefer 1, but agree that something more substantial at the same length would be better. What about some sparkle on your wrist, if you are worried about competing with the neckline of your dress? The dress is lovely and looks fantastic on you, btw.
