Do BR denim skirts stretch?

I found a very nice dark denim pencil skirt at BR, but after reading about jeans stretching too much, I'm wondering about this skirt also stretching. I haven't bought it yet since time was too short.
Also, should one buy denim pencil skirts like jeans? That is, get a snug fit that will stretch to conform to your body? My old skirts are A-line and a dropped waist with a flared lower part.

I have an a-line denim skirt from BR that stretched out a lot, so I would err on the side of snug. I did see that pencil skirt, it looks very nice.

Thank you for your response, Marianne. I found another dark denim pencil skirt at Marshalls (Z.Cavaricci brand) that I brought home to try, but want to get the one that gives me the most shape.
How much spandex does your a-line skirt have?

Joy, it's 2%. I think it's more the quality of the material than the percentage though.

Joy, I have a few clients in BR skirts and so far no complaints. Perhaps it’s a different skirt to the one Marianne has?

Thank you. I'll go back and try it and probably bring it home. A wonderfully flattering denim pencil skirt would be a dream come true. Most are too short.

I'm 5'4", Angie. I like a skirt that's about 23" long. That usually hits on the knee. It might be better if a pencil skirt were a little bit longer. Are there some other denim skirts out there I should look at?
I went to BR today and tried on the 2 and 4 in the dark denim (they also have a med. faded denim). The 4 fit just the way I'd like and the 2 fit like a glove. The clerk said to get the 2, so I bought that one to try around the house to see if it loosens up like jeans. The fabric is 79% cotton and 21% elasterell...a new one for me.

That’s quite a long short skirt for your height Joy, but I trust your judgment.

There is a stunning denim pencil skirt at AT at the moment - $69. My 5ft 10 client bought it in a size 6 last week. It was above her knees but fabulous. Try JCrew too. Their denim skirts are much longer.

Angie - I really like the look of that AT skirt. How is the fit? I have pretty straight hips, about 35" and about a 27" waist. Many skirts are cut for a more curvy figure, so I have a difficult time finding a good fit. Thanks.

I have a BR A-line denim skirt from last Spring, and it didn't really stretch out at all. It is a stretchy material, it doesn't stay stretched out though.

You should try the fit of the AT skirt, Donna. My client wasn’t curvy either. I think it will work.

Angie, I don't think 23'' is too long for a 5'4'' person. I have skirts that are 23'' long, and they end just below my kneecap, and I am 5'3''. It depends on whether the skirt sits on the natural waist or lower. If it sits on a natural waist, 23'' seems a pretty good length. Of course, everybody's measurements are different ...

I have a BR denim pencil skirt from last spring (not the A-line one though) and I don't feel that it has stretched out very much at all. I wore it all the time last year and loved it! Now that I have been working out and getting in shape, I think it might be too big for me

Thank you all for your replies and input. I looked online at the AT and JCrew skirts. The BR skirt is also $69. As far as the length, I'm a bit high (short?) waisted plus have a lot of leg length above the knee and could really rock a mini skirt in the 60's-70's, but now I've got knobby knees with blue veins showing on the side of the knee, so a skirt dividing the knee or hitting just at the bottom seems to look best for my age. A 22" a-line is OK if it rests on my hips giving me a little more length.

I like the AT skirt's color and style, but the J Crew skirt is probably the best length. The BR skirt is a heavy denim and has big belt loops that would need to be removed. Are tucked in tops in style for spring since I'm seeing skirts that seem to demand a belt? I'd rather not tuck in tops because of my high waist and throwing proportions off. The skirt from Marshalls has loops plus a fairly wide belt, also in dk denim. The J Crew skirt is worth a drive downtown to check out in person if I can get to it this week, so tags will remain on the skirts awhile longer.

Shopping will have to wait until late in the week, but I tried the skirts I have at home on again this morning. I think the BR size 2 is the right size but shorter than is flattering. I'm afraid letting out the hem on dark denim would leave a line, but it's possible. The one from Marshalls (size 4) is the perfect color and length but too big in the waist especially and would need to be taken in. The excess at the waist of both skirts also does nothing to help define a waist on my rectangular body.
I'm hopeful that the Classiques will make me feel fab.
