Do boots soften up? (Tory Burch)

I just got these from the Nordstrom sale, in brown:

I think I like them, but they're definitely stiff. Will they soften over time? Will they stretch a teensy bit in the toe? They are just slightly tight on the right foot, but a teensy bit of stretching would overcome that.

I've tried finding boots I like and it's so hard, but these are the first I've liked.

They will soften around the ankle some but I noticed that they were very stiff. Do they hurt?

Deb - I only wore them for about five minutes around the house, and they were just surprisingly stiff. I've never had boots like this, that were stiff, so just wondering if they would soften up and get comfortable. These seemed tricky to bend my legs normally.

I think for the price they should be very soft. I can be patient with cheaper items but when it comes to the expensive ones they must be almost perfect or they get returned.
Sorry that your boots are so stiff. I don't have experience with that brand and after reading your post I will not seek them out, either.
It's a shame because they are very pretty.

I have had luck with leather boots softening over time. But you could call Nordstrom and talk with a sales associate and ask the question. I have found the shoe SA's at Nordie's very knowledgeable. They might even have free stretching available--Macy's does.

I did find that my recently purchased riding boots (I've worn them maybe seven times?) are still somewhat stiff in the ankle. I think it is because of the lining--I think the leather may soften, but the thick lining seems to be quite stiff. Is that perhaps the case with your boots? In the past, I have had leather boots that had a very thin lining, and they softened up a lot.

Another thing you could do is try calling Tory Birch and ask them if the leather is intended to soften up.

The boots are beautiful, so I hate for you to send them back if they're going to get more comfy.

Thank you for all the responses. I've decided since they aren't perfect, I most return them. I read a lot of online reviews about people complaining of the same thing

I don't truly need tall brown boots here in San Diego, so I'm going to wait until we figure out where we are moving and continue the search then!
