I've been pining for tuxedo jeans, but I have plenty of jeans already. Do you think that regular jeans could be made into tuxedo jeans by sewing a wideblack grosgrain ribbon down the sides? The waistband would have to be opened, I think, but that should be do-able (by an alterations person, not me.)

I'm wondering how the ribbon would wash? And I'm willing to convert either skinny or wideleg - what silhouette do you prefer? Thanks!
