Distressed skinnies...which ones? Or both???

So I really like BOTH pairs of these distressed skinny jeans. I kind of find them just casual fun, and easy for MOTG and sort of more rocker chic looks.I have all the "proper" pants I need, but nothing a little more RATE. So I'm trying to choose a pair...or just decide to spring for both. You know, black, grey, both are pretty handy, I like the slight distressing, and the over distressed. Can you see I'm talking myself into both here? Haha.. Or is one pair clearing much better than the other?

I like the grey- you can see that it is intentionally distressed rather than just worn out at the knees.

I just think it works better with the distressing in the softer color.

I was sure I would vote for back but I prefer the gray. I don't love how the distressing looks symmetrical on the knees of the black.

Large preference for the grey so far! Thanks for the responses. Interesting, because I really wasn't sure which to pick. I also found another black pair and I think the distressing looks more natural, so maybe I'll get the grey first and decide on the black later.

Of these two, I'd vote for the grey. I prefer its sort of distressing.

Just a warning about holes at knees - some reviews of similarly distressed denim mentioned how they accidentally ripped the knees open further when putting on the jeans and got caught on the hole So, even if you intend to be careful . . .

Grey! I find the holes in the knees of the black ones look "fake" - they're too symmetrical to be natural distressing, and to my eye that makes them look kind of cheap.

Agree with Sara though - the holes in distressed jeans always get bigger, esp. at stress points like knees. And the kind that have the threads running across them, the threads tend to break pretty easily. I do still like and wear mine, you just have to be ok with them getting more distressed.

Gray for sure. But FYI - its my understanding regarding thie issues of distressed jeans ripping more, part of the "flavor" or "attitude" of the jean is then determined by how/if you repair the distressed ripped parts. As you wear them and then repair them, they become more "yours" and something that is original and unique! That's what I do with mine - and it's fun!

I never thought of it that way, Marley! Good point. It's been a long time since I've had any jeans with holes....since I was a young teen I guess, and they were natural then, haha. I really like the grey too!

Late to reply but I like the gray far better - even though I think the distressing is a little extreme, they somehow look more natural and fun - and as others aid "intentional". I'm not super crazy about black jeans due to the potential dye rub off issue.
