Dinner and a Show - Which Outfit?

Hello, friends! I need help choosing an outfit to wear out to dinner and the theater in Chicago later this month. I'm hoping I can shop my closet and still look current. Everything here is at least two years old. My husband has a favorite, but I'll wait to hear your responses before I reveal it.

Blue Sheath:
Photos #1-3 on it's own, no jacket
Photos #4-5: with tux jacket
Photo #6: Denim jacket just for fun...not really for evening

Pencil skirt and wrap top:
Photos #7-9

Black Sheath and grey jacket:
Photos #10-11

Photo #12: the necklace (a gift from hubby) that I would like to wear.

Sorry so picture heavy. Which do you prefer? Thanks so much!

They all look lovely, so I do not think you can go wrong no matter what you decide. My favorites are 4/5 and 7.

Deborah, you look so lovely, and that necklace is so pretty. I think my favorites are the two dresses without the jackets, with a slight preference for #2. The clutches really add to the outfits (note to self).

I suspect that everything looks gorgeous on you. I particularly love the clean lines and fit of the first dress. Do you have a shorter boxier jacket you could put with it? I only ask because I just read an article in a fashion mag and they used this style of jacket in a similar way and it looked fab.

I like #7. They are all super nice but #7 has that wow factor, to me.

Question: are the black boots a must. I'm guessing they are -- Chicago and all.

Because the black boots automatically set the tone for this outfit. Given that, my favorite is #6 but maybe with a scarf with some black print in it to pick up the boots.

Otherwise, I like #7, it seems the most evening like.

Dianthus, I wish I did have a shorter jacket but I couldn't find anything in my closet that looked right with it.

Denise, I think I will have to wear the boots. I'm not familiar with Chicago, but we will probably be walking a few blocks from the hotel to dinner and the theater. We are going out with a group and I wasn't involved with the planning. I'm such a baby, I would cab it all the way!

Angie, yes!!! Excellent suggestion about thermals. Should I wear the sheer stockings or get fleece tights?

Wear nude hose under sheer black tights! Double up! And layer a thermal top under your dress. Uniqlo does the best thermals.

Oooh I like them all but I love 7-9 that clutch bag is divine.

Another vote for 7-9. We could be twins with your sheath and the grey knit jacket. I also have very similar boots.
You may want to add a warm scarf with your coat for walking. It can be very windy.

I'm not sure what to do. Hubby likes the blue dress and I am leaning towards #7. Decisions!
