Quick break from work -- fun thread!
Here's me with long hair, bang version! Around 2nd grade or so my mom chopped it into a short Joey Heatherton cut as apparently I'd cry when she'd brush it out since it's fine and would get all tangly. (I remember loving that cut so much). I've pretty much worn it "somewhere" above my shoulders ever since, as whenever it grows past my shoulders it starts to break and look really ratty.
I've had it super short/pixie length. I've had the Farrah Fawcett wings. Yes I went through the perm years! Some time in college I got a really bad cut that had the ears cut out, and a lot of height on the top, and a "tail" in back. Shudder.
I also went for some years when the kids were young with it sorta touching my shoulders.... and always just pulling it back in a pony to get it off my face. Oh and there were the Melrose Place years, when I had a Heather Locklear sort of layered longish cut (which would rarely behave and would basically do a reverse flip at the end).. And of course you are all well familiar with my chin-length and shorter reverse bob -- my favorite.
Like Rachy, I feel that when my hair gets longer I look more .. tired. Or something. It's an odd combination of younger but older? I feel like it drags my face down? Anyway, just had it chopped this week and it's shorter: just above chin length, still tuckable behind the ears. I think it looks more polished when shorter, it's also less flat on top (so adds to my height!), is way easier to manage, looks healthier, and brings the focus to my eyes rather than my chin and neck!
