I think it could be good...Coach Is trying to reinvent itself, has a New designer, and is trying to get back to its roots. Michel Kors has outpaced Coach fior a while now...but I think MK is same old, same old. I think of SW as affordable, ( well, relatively) luxury and there might be a synergy there, style wise. I have loved Coach since the 70's and SW shoes are my go to. We'll have to see!
I agree, Thistle. I am on a bag purchasing hiatus until the start coming out with hidden logos. Even my beloved Brahmin's now have their logo blazoned front and center.
I love SW and appreciate the quality and construction of the shoes...Even though pricey, they are always on task and last forever...That said, Coach has let me down in the past...I have found special bags there that I have loved...I have also found manufacturing for the masses there and didn't love them..I guess I am more inclined to view this merger as not so great...I hope time will prove my skepticism wrong...
crutcher---i'm not sure that this merger will change the way SW is manufactured, after all, before this it was owned by the jones group, which also owned Nine West.
I'm optimistic -- like Retailgirl, I immediately thought about what Coach has been doing recently: new marketing, new more luxurious and simple styles. Maybe they'll get it right.
I'm with retailgirl and viva -- I am thoroughly enjoying my new Coach bag, and I like where they are going these days. I like SW but can envision how this might lead to a little freshening of their styles, which can skew fairly conservative.
